Notice how all the glowing reviews are from landlords - they probably do get great treatment and are very happy. They're certainly not troubled by Bassets for such trivial matters as paying for essential repairs or making their homes better places to live. However, they don't care... Read Full Review

Notice how all the glowing reviews are from landlords - they probably do get great treatment and are very happy. They're certainly not troubled by Bassets for such trivial matters as paying for essential repairs or making their homes better places to live.
However, they don't care about tenants as long as they get money each month from them. Dreadfully rude staff. Frequent and excessively invasive inspections, slow service and all round an unpleasant company to deal with. No care at all for the wellbeing of their tenants and they will do all they can to dodge their responsibilities.
Appalling company - AVOID.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Be honest. Treat tenants as they would like to be treated themselves. Use paperwork that is appropriate to the property. Respond to urgent problems in a timely manner. Don\'t patronise customers or make comments about their personal effects even if it is not to their taste.

We continued to read it and every discrepancy we found was answered by "don't worry about that".
We rented the house but had several problems with the house including a water leak that they were slow to respond to and lacked urgency. They sent a young man to inspect the house and he walked round speaking into a dictaphone being very rude about our belongings in front of my wife.
They were so unpleasant to deal with we moved early despite needing to stay in the area and had even more problems with them when leaving despite having professional cleaners in. They were patronising and treated us with contempt. I hope I never have to deal with them again. We have been in rented houses for many years and have never encountered service like this before. I have heard that the sales team at Bassetts are good to deal with. Our experience was with the letting team who are in a different office. I urge people to avoid them if possible and take photographs of everything if they use them.
