We instructed Gareth James after a bad experience with another estate agency. From the start Mark and team showed commitment and worked hard to market our flat. Michael led the sale and his calm, realistic, straightforward approach was very refreshing. He managed expectations in a way that kept us grounded in what is typically a highly emotional process. We couldn't have been happier with Gareth James, and especially Nikki Addison, in the sale of our flat. We sold relatively quickly in a tricky market and were happy with the price achieved. The communication from Gareth James was excellent and they were genuinely nice and helpful.
Ours was a complicated sale and without Nikki's knowledge and perseverance it would have taken twice as long and been much more painful. As first time sellers we found that it was well worth paying the extra money for a traditional agent, rather than going down the online route.

We had our property on the market with 2 different estate agents before Gareth James. In short, the service we got from Gareth James was far ahead of the others. They were strong on communication, being proactive and all round professionalism. Most importantly, they got us to where we are now: successful exchange of contracts. We appreciated the honesty and support of Michael Walker and Catherine Betiolo and would not hesitate to recommend Gareth James.

Received an extremely poor (verging on unlawful) service whilst attempting to purchase a house through the Nunhead branch of Gareth James. Was discouraged from putting an offer in on a property (as had originally discovered through a different agent) and at several points the Branch Manager actually refused to pass offers on to the vendor. Whilst looking round the property originally the viewing agent lied about the previous sale price of the property (which they had listed at a higher price than with previous agents). No formal complaints policy on the website - extremely surprised to receive such a distrustful service from the Branch Manager!

His advice proved to be valuable throughout all stages of the transaction and his understanding of lease extensions gleaned from years working in West London helped to reassure our prospective buyers.
Mark went above and beyond what we ever expected from an estate agent such as regularly visiting the property while it was vacant to make sure it was still OK, thinking to turn off the main water supply when it was really cold just in case we got a problem with frozen/burst pipes, and forwarding our mail! Overall we are extremely grateful for his friendly and professional assistance especially given that we are based out of London 200 miles from the property; we are delighted and completely satisfied with his service.
Also, all staff at Gareth James Property seemed to sing from the same hymn sheet and I truly believe that Mark exemplifies what the company as a whole has to offer anyone.
