Extremely positive experience with Clan Gordon after 18 years with a previous letting agency which was becoming an increasingly frustrating and disappointing service in recent years with a drive for online expansion and depersonalised service. Finding Clan Gordon has been a breath of fresh air and I only wish I had had the sense to find them years ago. Since making contact with Hannah Doig early in the year to discuss the possibility of selling our old rental flat in Edinburgh and upgrading to something better, she has been unfailingly helpful with her general guidance and feedback about the potential of various properties on the market in terms of suitability for the rental market. Even though she had no guarantees that we would use her services as a letting agent, she has provided friendly, knowledgeable and patient advice and support throughout the process of our new purchase and then the process of preparing the property for renting. Her communication is excellent, she has always done exactly what she promised to do and she has enabled us to get from collecting keys to getting a tenant in situ within 6 weeks even though we live several hundred miles away and could only be in Edinburgh for 72 hours in the whole process. The rest of the staff in the office have also been extremely helpful and supportive in the process of remedial and compliance work, and again their communication and guidance has been excellent and reliable. We are not professional landlords, but are buying a flat which we hope to retire to eventually, so we were looking for an agency which would focus on caring well for the property and treating the tenants well, who are enabling us to pay off our mortgage. Clan Gordon have exceeded all our expectations and we would not hesitate to recommend them. It's an absolute revelation after our previous experience. Whether you email or ring them, you have a clear response from a staff team who clearly work together closely and want to help each other and all their clients. It is a completely different experience than the previous agency where in the past couple of years we would never get to speak to the same person twice, had no idea of whether any action was being taken, and where we were hitting our heads against a brick wall and going round in circles. Clan Gordon have a very accessible, easy to use online landlord portal which is a great way of accessing everything we need to understand what is happening to our property, but what is so refreshing after our previous experience is that this does not seem to be designed as a substitue for personal customer service. It is a tool to support genuinely efficient working, rather than a way of cutting corners and responsibility by an agency. Clan Gordon seems to have retained all of the positive approachability of a small business whilst also being really efficient and professional. Thank you Hannah, Matthew and everyone else we have had dealings with in the Clan Gordon office for your high standards and very friendly and supportive service.
