We didn’t sell through Barons but they were the agent for the house bought. We barely heard from our own agent throughout the long painful process of waiting for the rest of the chain, but I felt like Charlie became my new best friend - he’s a machine at chasing the chain, even persuading our vendors to break the chain in the end so that we could move! The only hitch on moving day was that we completed around 11am and Barons tried to tell us we couldn’t have the key until 1pm despite the fact we owned the house at that point! The vendors were still there when we arrived but this was only a small hitch. I would definitely instruct Barons if we moved again. The branch manager (Trevor I think) is from the old school estate agent mould but Charlie and Tabi are brilliant.

I would add that on the day of completion, the contract time for the previous owners to move out was at 1pm (as confirmed by your solicitors), and that's why the keys were due to be release at this time and the previous owners were still there when you arrived. This is the case for most property transactions to give the owners sufficient time to move out on the day. I hope you're happy with your new home and settling in well!
