Buy the best - it's worth it! You can find (slightly) cheaper estate agents in the area, but I wouldn't! Spending a few quid more gets you a much, MUCH better service. They valued our house at £20k more than any other agents. When we challenged Rob on the maths, he explained clearly and carefully why he thought it should sell at the price he had suggested. In fact it never got as far as "rightmove": it was marketed first to the several hundred buyers on Beercocks' books, and the first person to view offered us the asking price within a week. Often it's the after-sales service that lets an agency down - not here. Beercocks have a dedicated after-sales team, fully resourced a clearly very well trained. Nicky kept us updated regularly, liaised very effectively with our buyer for us, and wasn't afraid to push for progress where needed. Rob also recommended a brilliant conveyancer to us when we asked. I think the key difference between Beercocks and other agencies I've used - aside from the fact that they are very efficient, and do what they say they do when they say they'll do it - is that they take the time and trouble to know the people they're dealing with - whether buyer or vendor. Maybe that makes it easier for them to fit the right buyer to the right property. It certainly made the experience of selling as stress free as these things can be! I would definitely recommend them- indeed I've already done so. More to the point, I'd happily use them again.
