I could write a book about the selling of my Cottage in Cullompton, so how am I going to fit it all in one small review I don’t know! I should explain I am Head-Injured & Disabled, so please excuse any mistakes. When I thought my Cottage had reached a self derived valuation of £300K I put it on the market with the same company as my Letting Agents I had been using for years to manage my Cottage. This I did because I had Tenants in there at the time. This was a big mistake, although I had 3 offers over the period of a year. I then called in John Parkin of Thorne & Carter Estate Agents, who I immediately realised was the right man for the job. He had an excellent knowledge of Cullompton & of the local housing market; as he did Thatched & Cobb Constructed houses. Even though I was only Selling I had found the previous year very stressful & my B.P. reflected this, often going dangerously high. I decided to invest some of the money I had raised through renting the Cottage out by having a Master Thatcher Comb (well worth the investment if you have a Thatched roof) & repair the Roof & having it Painted inside & out. This transformed the Cottage & made it more of a sellable condition. John then took over the marketing & stress of selling the Cottage; immediately I felt the sense of relief, knowing my Cottage was in good hands & that it would be sold soon. Indeed, it was sold soon. I had to accept slightly less than what I believed my Cottage was worth, but my B.P. has returned to normal; my sleep (quality & quantity) has drastically improved, which, on balance, made it worth it; what price can you put on your health! Thank you John (& family) for your role in the selling of my Cottage & in doing so, in such a way that improved my mental & physical health!

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
