I dealt with Ian Blanchford for most of the time in the purchase of my property in the west country. I was living in the South East at the time and due to the distance Ian helped with all of the negotiations and sorting out of details as they arose. All dealings were carried out in a professional and friendly manner. During the purchase of the property, there were one or two hick ups. One being the condition that the property was to be cleaned before completion. In the end it never took place as I gave in as the vendors solicitors were making a big job of it and time was passing. However this has not left any bad feel on my side as it was not Helmlores fault and I would use them again if I do decide to move again. Thank you for the gift, a lovely touch.

We note your comments in relation to the issue you experienced with the property but feel it valid to add some context to this. The landlord accepted that there had been a delay in dealing with the damp issue (which was exacerbated by the passing of his wife and the Covid-19 situation). Due to the fact that you had to wait longer than was fair for the remedial works to be undertaken a full three month rent free period was offered to you and accepted as well as paying for the required hotel accommodation. We forwarded the details for the property ombudsman etc back in June as we completely accept your right to raise complaints. I am afraid to say that the way you have spoken to me and other members of staff has been fairly confrontational and I do not accept that we have been rude to you. We do our absolute level best to treat all our landlords and tenants fairly and respect your right to complain and hope that you are happy in your new home and have as enjoyable a festive season as the current restrictions allow. You attempted to deny that damp was a problem a month ago, until I pulled the evidence dating back to 2019 that it was an issue of rising damp & you personally had acknowledged this yourself. You wonder why I have shown annoyance with you Andy? Maybe it’s because you came in pretending to know what you were talking about right up until I pulled out all the evidence. And then you backed right down because I had kept everything you assumed I didn’t. But thank you for your response and allowing me to further highlight the issues yourself, Helmores & the landlord caused.
