I would give minues five stars if i can. Dont trust this estate agent for anything they say. We put offer on a dream house over 8 weeks ago. After intial communication about offer being accepeted there was hardly any communication from the estate agent. We chased them up couple of times a week for five to six weeks. Our mordgage provider also tried to organise valuation for eight times with estate agent and each time we were given different excuse why the appointment was cancelled. We took this up with peter and he told us that he had staff on sick leave and other excuse was seller has gone away on holiday and eigth time owner had a covid. We decided to take this formally with peter after being messed about for this long and asked him what is happing with the process and why is it taking this long? He told us that seller is having issue with there purchase so there has beem delay and we should know more within a week or so. Two days later peter told us that there is another buyer whose mordgage intially didnt go through but they apperantley knocked on seller's door and made good relationship with them so the seller decided to sell the house to them on a lower offer then ours. Knowing this we were heart broken. We decided to speak to seller directly to find out why after accepting our offer and going through all the process they decided to change their mind? Seller told us he aceppted two offers on advice of estate agent and go through both of them. Just incase if one of them doesnt go through then second would be a back up. Seller also mentiond they are exchanging in two weeks it means peter know about this alll the way along. He played us by giving us excuses after excuses on progression of the sale. How could you do this to somone with growing family? It will cost us more than £2000 because of your shady practice. We are not upset because seller decied to go with other buyer. We are upset beacuse we were lied to by shady estate agent. We are at finicial loss but more importanly you have caused us emotional distress and wasted our time. When we applied for the mordgage we were given lower rate but as we lost the house now we will have to pay higher rate intreset for next couple of years and more importanly we will have to start the process of finding the house all over again. My advice to any buyers would be to avoid peter and his estate agent like a plaque!!
