Good Day, I have had the most horrible experience and unscrupulous treatment by Apartmentwharf. Early in September, I contacted them on Spareroom.com about ad reference- Ad ref# 15857591 for a flat in Greenwich. Their agent Jessie (if that is even the correct name), told me to message via whatsapp on 07459581424 which I did, (s)he/ they told me the flat I wanted in Greenwich was no longer available but then sent me ads for other flats via whatsapp. I eventually settled on one on the Isle of Dogs and paid the one week rent as a holding deposit on Sep 3rd, I have my credit card record and email to prove same. They took this money right away. (S)he/ they became more difficult to reach after promising the advert would be pulled from ApartmentWharf's website, which it never was. On 8th September (s)he/ they tell me via whatsapp after Id been chasing that "the current tenant" decided to stay. It must be improper or breach of something to have advertised a flat which was not actually available/ at the guaranteed end of tenancy. I asked about my deposit and (s)he/ they told me to email them which I did right away. When I followed up on 9th September she says it could take 5 to 7 working days. To date I have not had my refund and despite several strongly worded whatsapp messages ((s)he does not take calls) I have had neither a response nor my money back. The email for the holding deposit was sent by a 'Jaspreet" and my emails to get it back which to date remain unanswered I presume also went to this supposed person. I am in doubt as to whether any of them are who they say they are based on this horrible experience I have had. The very strange thing is I am seeing either the same or similar flats available now or from10th Oct on their website. CAN YOU IMAGINE 17 DAYS THEY ARE HOLDING MY MONEY AND I CANT EVEN GET THE COURTESY OF AN UPDATE. REALLY SHAMELESS CONDUCT. IF IT WAS POSSIBLE TO GIVE ENGATIVE STARS THEY WOULD GET -100. I'd like to clarify that it may happen that tenants who at first informed us that they are moving out change their minds last minute and wish to renew their tenancy. By law, when this happens, we cannot evict them nor force them out of the flat. However, I can confirm that your holding fee has been refunded to you promptly and in full.
