Turpie & Co

I wish we had paid more attention to the other negative reviews and Turpie&Co.’s sneaky Terms of Business before signing up. Turpie&Co. sent us an invoice for just under £4000 after the house did not sell. We found that the staff and one of the directors did not like to deal in writing. We wish we insisted that all details of offers, dates and terms agreed etc. were confirmed in writing. The staff denied conversations and major instructions were ignored. We found that Turpie&Co  have complete disregard for the Code of Practice for Property Agents. Overall, unpleasant, arrogant and condescending staff who were difficult to get hold of once we signed up and were unwilling to rectify issues or report on progress. Some other facts: Turpie&Co. advertised our house for six weeks without our permission. The staff did not forward us the offer on our house in timely manner and as required by law. The staff did not list their fees upfront, as required by law. I would advise all their potential vendors to be very careful what you sign with them. The staff had a complete disregard for our instructions throughout the transaction. We had a stressful and time consuming dealing with them for over six months. As the house still remains unsold, this was an expensive mistake that ruined our plans and lost us the house we wanted to buy.
