I must say that 1Let doesnt even deserve one star. We have rented a flat from August 2019 to September 2020 and soon after we moved in we noticed that all the walls have started to become mouldy - the situation occured in every room (2bed) and bathroom. We were reassured by a MARLA agent from 1let that the property never had problems with mould and advised to keep wiping the walls until something gets done and the problem is diagnosed. When visiting the flat our property manager admitted that the flat had had problems with mould before, so we were lied to in the first place. The blocked gutters were blamed to cause this problem, but after they were cleaned, the mould started getting even worse. We have spent every evening wiping off the walls in the entire flat, until the landlord's visit to the property. On the day of his visit, a massive chunk of paint chipped off showing us a nasty, damp wall underneath several layers of paint. The landlord just painted a fresh coat of paint stating that the wall should dry out soon and blamed the problem on not enough insulation. 1let has visited the property several times promising us to solve the problem, coming up with different causes and solutions every time, which was ridiculous. We have spent the entire year wiping off the mould and protecting our belongings from catching the mould, not to mention many items that we had to throw away and the smell that our clothes and personal items developed. Making an official complaint to the managing director with the cost of items that we had to throw away received a very negative response. The property definitely didnt meet the living standard whatsoever. All in all, I wouldnt recommend to anyone, the situation and how it was dealt with by both agency and landlord was absolute hell.
