I wouldn't even give them one star. Just rude. I went into the office with a problem and she kept putting her hand and finger in my face to shut me up even though we were having a calm conversation. And then she could not stop smirking at me even though we were having a serious conversation. Lack of communication. Many emails do not get a reply. I asked for someone elses email address in the office so that in case of a desperate matter I could get it resolved without having to wait a week and she refused. Eventually Sonia gave me the all reading hamlet homes email address which I am yet to receive a response from. I would not be surprised if she is the only person in the office to use this. I would not recommend this estate agents. I cannot wait till my contract ends and I do not have to communicate to this vile woman. On the other hand the men in the office seem very pleasant and are more attentive when you have a problem. But for some reason Sonia refused to give me their email addresses so I cannot contact them.
Comments on Agent Fees
In regards to the house the fees are adequate. In regards to the estate agents service they provide, the fees are outrageously over priced.

4 Nov 2017Thank you for your review. We take physical allegations very seriously and would ask you to come forward with your identity. The office is fully equipped with CCTV cameras and anything of such nature would have been recorded on our system (we have checked and cannot find any contentious incident having taken place at the offices). We are perplexed by your review which sounds like a hoax as we do not manage any properties in the RG20 area of Reading. Unless you come forward with your name, we cannot take this review seriously at all, coupled with checking the CCTV monitors none of the staff members know of such an incident taking place neither. The review is some what inconsistent with the named member of staff, whom in the past and present is known to be diligent with communicating back to both our landlords and tenants. As the company officer I am open to having a meeting and really cannot show any more transparency than offering to go through CCTV and having a meeting. Its unfortunate you have chosen not to identify yourself as the authenticity leaves the review somewhat in question. I leave the choice to you to see if you would like to take my invitation, otherwise I'm afraid this will be deemed as a hoax and sad that an individual would have so much time to spend on meaningless spurious, maligning complaints.

4 Sept 2018I am not the person that wrote this comment, however I could not help but laugh at your statement - 'The review is some what inconsistent with the named member of staff, whom in the past and present is known to be diligent with communicating back to both our landlords and tenants'. Sonia has never been violent towards myself however she has been rude and menacing especially when the conversation was not going to her plan.

12 Oct 2022Sonia is not her real name; her real name is Mrs. Kamalpreet Johal. Just like her husband, Gurprit Johal (a.k.a. Gary Johal), they both choose to hide under the aliases, Sonia and Gary. A google search on "Gurprit Johal, Kamalpreet Johal, Hamlet Homes" reveals multiple fines and court cases due to breaches relating to HMO regulations (no licence), overcrowding, safety, and failure to advertise fees.

13 Aug 2025One star is too much for them. They are ignoring you letters, very difficult to deal with them, blame tenants for all issues they need to face. Once we had tumble drier, freezer, boiler (no hot water), smoke alarms, lights broken and blocked drains. We payed £5000 for renting all rooms a month, they put rent up 6.5% each year with no maintenance at all. Do not use their services.
