The service from city lets was shocking! After letting a flat through them for a year we had a large range of problems. Before we moved into the flat we were told there was free guest parking (something that was a big sell in the city centre) it later turned out we could buy a parking space for an extra £100 a month, far from free! When we got in the flat we found it dirty, despite being told it would be cleaned before hand.
We had many problems throughout the year, the bathroom had no ventilation at all when we moved in, we spent 9months trying to get someone to acknowledge this and were told it was impossible. Eventually a lovely lady called Elle started at CityLets and after mentioning this for the first time to her she agreed it needed fixing then miraculously the landlord fixed it within the week (something she previously had been saying impossible)
The flat itself was extremely cold and damp, we later found out the flat had been flooded previous to our move in and had clearly never dried out properly. When we moved out, despite buying portable heaters, and running dehumidifiers all of the time a lot of our belongings were ruined and ended up in the bin. We logged the damp and cold problems throughout the year (we moved out in summer and we were still using several hot water bottles and blankets at this point) to which the landlord refused to acknowledge also.
At one point we had no working toilet, the flushing mechanism had broken, and were told by CityLets they wouldnt ring anyone until the Monday morning, this being on a Saturday, they were happy to leave us with no toilet for two days despite it being their responsibility. In the end we ended up ringing an emergency plumber to come fix it for us. Not sure how we're meant to live two days without a toilet?!
When we had moved out, it took weeks of chasing to get our deposit back, which it states in the contract we would be informed about within two weeks of moving out.
All in all, I would avoid CityLets, the time it took them to acknowledge and fix things was shocking. Although if you do have to deal with them then request Elle as she was the only person who seemed to be bothered about helping people.
