We'd like to say a big "Thank You" to Kirsty of Ryder & Dutton Halifax!
As foreigners who just moved to this area for less than a year and first time buyers too, we can image how difficult it could've been, if without Kirsty's help, to go through the complicated house purchasing process. But fortunately she made it easy and pleasant.
One thing we feel truly appreciated was how efficient and effective Kirsty was on communication. She kept us informed and updated all the time. IIRC, there was never a gap longer than a week between two consecutive updates from her. Even when there wasn't much going on ATM (e.g. when something was pending), she still reached out regularly just to assure us about the situation. Whenever we raised a inquiry (usually through email), we usually got her response in just hours or even minutes, with our questions clearly addressed. She frequently made contact with various parties involved (us, the vendors, solicitors, surveyors) to keep the ball rolling. Also please bear in mind, in this case the vendors were oversea with a huge time difference, which made efficient communication even more important. Fortunately, this was never an issue with Kirsty's help.
As both foreigners and first time buyers, our knowledge about house purchasing was rather limited. Things transparent to experienced buyers and locals were not necessarily known to us. We needed much more explanation and guidance. Kirsty always treated us with kindness and patience, helped us walking through the whole process. She never hesitated to go the extra mile whenever we had the need. For example, when we wanted to bring in some expert to exam some specific aspect of the house, we didn't know anyone, so we asked Kirsty. She not only recommended the a very professional company (which did an excellent job eventually), but also helped to arranged with them for a free assessment/report on the issue, without any intervention needed from us.
Overall, our experience with Ryder & Dutton, and in particular Kirsty, was brilliant! I would recommend them without reservation. If we need to use estate agent ourselves in the future, they are surely our first choice!
