Byroms received rent direct from Council for two years, deducted their fees and sent on the rent. This required very little effort on their behalf. Then the Council stopped payments due to change in tenants circumstances. I expected Byroms to write, ring and visit the tenants to remedy but they didn't. They did nothing proactively, I had to ring and text them for updates which they either ignored or took a week in replying and made no effort to contact the tenant to sort out. It appears they were happy to take the money whilst there was little work to do, but couldn't be bothered when there was any difficulty. Paying them % was a waste money, I could of fine better myself.

This lady has a dispute with her ex partner we were instructed by him to have rents paid to us from Oldham council in effect to act as an intermediary we have not managed the property nor put the tenants in the property it is only her ex partner who has authority from the tenants to discuss any rent non payment with Oldham council. We were only instructed once rent had been paid by Oldham Council to pay each party nothing more. I have spoken to her and forwarded e mails to her from her ex partner, given the totally unfounded critism I would suggest she discusses this with her ex partner. We shall follow this up with appropriate action.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
