Found to what was a perfect flat for me and girlfriends first home together back in April 2011. We immediately paid £150 to secure property and move in 4 weeks later. That's when trouble all began had several issues getting hold of jane in the office. As one day I was having a hot shower before work, the water temperature changed dramatically and scalded my chest. I ended up in hospital due to this with severe blistering and discomfort. When finally got hold of the office it took close to a week to have this repaired. I chased up everyday, as it was just a shower room we had in property. The shower was completely replaced. Then couple of months down the line. Our boiler broke for first time of a saturday night in mid november. We contacted emergency gas engineer out to repair he got the boiler working for a few days. On the Monday I received a phone call from office asking why I called out and why it couldn't wait till Monday as landlord was refusing to pay bill for repair. I was told not to contact emergency gas engineer again. And speak with office hours.
The boiler went again. Another engineer from different company came off and said boiler was broken and it would need to be replaced! Now this is the fun part. The landlord dragged his feet. It took over 4 weeks to have it replaced. The landlord turned up at door with plug in radiators and £20 to heat the house. 2 measly heaters for a 2 bedroom house. We were compensated of around £150 for problem. Even thoo property was inhabitable for weeks as we had to move in with my parents with period it was broken due to how cold property was. A joke it was to receive just a third of which I was paying back for a month not in the property to negligence of landlord and agency

As I mentioned also above we paid £150 to secure flat. It was only when we contacted a solicitor he informed us it was an illegal payment they took and it should have been taken off our deposit to which it was never. Jane from office was adamant it was all above board. It's only when we moved out property this all came to light. And to be honest back then I was just happy to leave it and never contact again. I find it funny that read reviews before posting my own that they have taken same payment from other tennents and keeping the money. My personal opinion is someone in one of the offices must be keeping that money as it can't be going through the books as it's not a fee they are entitled to. And I can't help but think how many more have they did this to. It's looking back now that I'm with a different letting agency and being treated fantastically I relised how very poorly I was treated. And ripped off by core. If reading this i hope it stops you making same mistake i did by letting off this agency.

Jane and Maria as useful as a plastic spoon in a sword fight. No help what so ever. Jobs would have been easier made redundant and an automated phone system in place

As a previous tenant of Core, I find Craig's comment that the negative reviews on here are a result of them refusing to pay AllAgents a fee extremely insulting - my reviews are on this page already. I can easily say that living in one of Core's properties was the single worst experience of my life and I can quite believe this reviewers experiences of repairs not being carried out to standard, not being able to get a hold of Jane (I'm surprised she bothers having a desk as she is 'away' from it that often. I would recommend all prospective tenants and genuine landlords AVOID this agent at all costs.

Your company never did a reference check. We were informed the flat would be held. And next thing we knew we are in it, we were not asked about previous places where we stayed. We recently did reference checks after seeing a flat with chantelle estates, and theres was done correctly. Check my housing for 3 years. Contacted my work to make sure im in employment, and that i would be for the coming year as the let is a 12 month one.

And another craig, saying this could be a negative review as you were not willing to pay, is you just trying to smokescreen the lack of respect you have to tennents within your care.
as i mentioned, i was burnt on chest because of a faulty shower, yes it was replaced, but it didnt make ammends to the fact i was in discomfort for weeks!

The only decent thing that has come out of my let with yourselves is the fact, i can and have talked people out of letting with yourselves, ive saved at least a dozen people going through the misery i had

Please can you contact the branch to discuss the above matter. Once we have spoken, I will respond honestly via the agents comment system.

In relation to fees, every agent could charge fees (2011) these fees will have included the referencing of single or multiple tenants.

Tenants now obtain their own references. Core Property have not charged any admin fee since 2012.

The review last you have just posted ( which is your right to do ) mentions fees charged, we do not charge fees. Staff keeping money ( all monies taken are banked and recorded )and finally staff members that have not been with the company for over 2 years.

We also have a full audited system. I wish you hadn't taken 2 years to post your review as I would of liked to have been made aware at the time!

I also have no real way of finding out who you are as we have only a first name and a post code area.

On another note it seems strange that the week after we refuse to pay a fee to join ALLAGENTS ( as they are run by a Glasgow letting agent.) That we receive a negative posting 2 years after an event.

Agreed. If I'd known about them I'd never have let them near my flat. They lied about the potential rental income and told me to drop it. There were mysterious charges at every turn. They only wanted tenants in for 6 months because they were making more money that way. They didn't inspect the flat because a tenant drilled into the wall to place a weightlifting bar which I had to pay to have removed. Tenants did what they liked and it was often empty. They lied, obfuscated ad didn't answer the ph ...

Yes, I have made an assumption that you are not here to help. I have arrived at this conclusion due to you refusing to help me when I was your tenant. So why would you help an ex tenant? Also, I find "if everything is as you say" extremely insulting. You know very well the conditions I had to live in while I was your tenant. And Jane Allan knows very well the effect this had on my physical health and emotional wellbeing. For you to suggest that I am being anything less than truthful is disg ...
