DO NOT USE THOMPSON WILSON. We did not have much to do with the agents during our tenancy as our property was managed by our Landlord. Judging by our experience of them whilst ending our tenancy, I am extremely glad that this was the case. Charlotte was very helpful throughout the process, always keen to try and help where possible. Jonathan on the other hand was extremely rude and self righteous; on many occasion patronising us. I am an educated professional and did not appreciate being spoken to in the way that we were. At one point he stated to our landlord that he was holding back a part of our deposit to "teach us a life lesson", I do not feel that this is an appropriate way to act. The landlord has now too withdrawn the property from this agent following poor service. They did not answer queries, and were not willing to listen to an individual case nor explain some of the decisions that they made. I would strongly advise against using Thompson Wilson,
- Answered our questions within emails as opposed to throwing a process at us that was not relevant for a property that they did not manage. - Give the same advise as opposed to chopping and changing to suit them - To tell the truth and not say they have entered a property to check it when only the landlord has keys!

26 Jan 2016I agree with the above comments.. I too have experienced similar issues, as our tenancy was also managed by our Landlord not TW. Issues really occurred at check out, such as poor communication in the TW office whereby decisions are made by others, but the owner denies them having been made despite email evidence Hidden costs only appearing at time of invoicing - landlord wanted to charge serious money for "repairs" and when challenged on them changed his tactic and deducted the money under the "cost of check out" charge TW clearly do not support the tenants in this and take sides with the landlord Stay away from TW

9 Mar 2016I agree with above comments, the agent is so bad I do not recommend to any landlords or tenants!!! Problems in the property for over 7 months with no action taken, over 100 emails, in the end big dispute they tried to take 95% of the deposit thinking they would win~! And in the end they lost because I won by providing over 200 images and good description of what the problem was and the dispute service decided that I was in the right. This is a family run business both Jonathan and his wife are very rude and they do not give you a chance to explain any problem at all. When first communicating with agent I have spoken to Charlote however as the emails I was sending were to powerful Mr Jonthan had to take over, but still I stood my ground and did not allow the agents to make a fool out of me.

I completely disagree with previous reviews. I have rented via TW for over 8 years and for 3 years previously. The staff are fantastic, nothing and is a problem for them, all I have to do is call or email and any issue has been resolved extremely efficiently. I would highly recommend these agents. ... Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
