I should have known that these were probably not the best estate agents n the world, when they rang of when I was halfway through a question. We are moving to the North West from South Wales and had asked to view two properties. We were shocked and surprised when we arrived as the houses were filthy on the outside, and in a run of takeaways, a very smelly butcher, a pub and a microbrewery. Not what I would call a desirable location. Although crestfallen we waited a few moments to talk to the agent, but there was no-one there. We went back tot he car and telephoned - if they were late we could let them know not to bother coming. However, the person we spoke to berated me for not answering my landline. Apparently they had being trying to ring me. Yet they knew that we were travelling up to Lancashire from South Wales so I was unsure why they had not used the mobile number. They were ringing me to say they were not coming to the viewing. I drove almost five hundred miles round trip for nothing, and all because these people had failed to ring me on my mobile; and because they had said this was a nice place when it clearly wasn't at all. the phone was put down on me again. If you are a prospective tenant I would keep well away from Farrow and Farrow. If you are a landlord you will get a better class of customer by using someone professional and polite. Incidentally, when we did get back to chez nous in Gwent, there was no record of any phone calls on the land line either. Comprehensively the rudest people I have dealt with in a long while.

5 Jul 2015Possibly the rudest customer we have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. We were not supplied with a mobile number otherwise we would have used it. The meanest of intellect would suggest the necessity to use modern tools available to research an area before travelling a significant distance to visit an unfamiliar spot, but this was clearly too much trouble. We cannot be held responsible for a subjective opinion of an area and all aspects mentioned would be clear to see through a basic web search / map view etc. Thankfully, we have dodged a bullet with this potential nightmare tenant and will continue to provide outstanding service to our very many happy landlords and tenants. Mudslinging on online review sites is a very churlish and spoilt way to behave when seeking to blame an agent for your own failures and by the way, other agents beware as this individual actually sought to bill us for her travel to view an area just because she didn't like it! Needless to say we will not be paying the bill. Oh and we were in fact at a property waiting to meet Ms Young, only leaving once she rang in and set off on a telephone rant about the area in question, telling us it wasn't the place for her and she wouldn't want to live there anyway.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
