Do not bother using this agency for any reason, no matter how desperate you may be. On first contact with this agency we were promised a viewing at a two bedroom flat with an immediate move in date however, upon arriving at the flat we learned that the lounge was being converted into two bedrooms, one of which was barely liveable. We decided to ask a few questions such as, what else would be coming into the flat e.g. furnishings and kitchen furniture as at that point there was no where visible to sit down and eat. We were told stools would be bought for both indoor and outdoor, as there is a large balcony connected to the kitchen. We were pressed to move in a week after our initial viewing as the room could only be held for 7 days according to our agent. When we moved in 7 days later, it was a construction site, certainly not fit for living in resulting in our being moved to a different flat higher in the building as a temporary measure though we were kicked out of here unexpectedly by the original tenant, having to move back down into our construction site flat. Our situation has still not changed nearly a month on. We still do not have anywhere to eat, we did not have WiFi for nearly 3 weeks, expecting, as we were told that a BT engineer would come and install it but for some unknown reason they cancelled. We installed the WiFi ourselves with no sight of a BT engineer whatsoever. Moreover, we have not had heating since we moved in, something that the whole building has had problems with, yet we have not been charged less even though we are paying for heating in our rent charge. Whenever we try and contact a member of the maintenance we rarely hear back and when I try to talk on the phone I am told they have no time to talk - our issues are real and we are aggrieved by everything. One of the most annoying issues has been over contact. We have been told so many things that have not come true - many of Filtons statements are contradictory to a previous comment or we will find out at a later date about a contradiction. We were also told that a cleaner would come at least once a week, but because the agency was generous, a cleaner would come twice, funny how we have only seen a cleaner once in the past month... Last but certainly not least, we are now having a partition put up in our kitchen due to 'safety regulations' something that surely would have been known beforehand however was not disclosed to us at any point in the initial proceedings. We found out when an agent walked in and told us this was happening and 'even though he did not want it to happen' had to. Had we known this before, we would never have taken up this property. They have single-handedly taken a great flat and ruined it for the sake of a couple hundred pounds more each month. They do not respect the enjoyment and care of their tenants, we are all pound signs to them �. We would never use this service having gone through it already and would never expect anybody to have to go through this. There are plenty more agencies out there who do respect their tenants however Filtons is not one of them.
What agent could do to change your mind?
One week's fee for a service that lies to you and fails to complete the simplest task. Paid the admin fee for totally unknown reasons, no real service provided.
