We rented a student property in Reading and we were thoroughly let down by Westgate who did nothing to help us get our deposit back from the unscrupulous landlord at the end of the tenancy. We left the property in a far better condition than when we took it over. Westgate promised to assist us but they did absolutely nothing and didn't even give us the courtesy of a response to our emails. A detailed inventory with photographs was given out the outset and a checkout report by an independent inventory company. Deductions were made based on these two reports as is normal with every Tenancy. There is nothing more an agent or landlord can do. Damages will always be chargeable, and were agreed by one of the Tenants, who later retracted her agreement.
