Our experience with Giles, and now Sparkle, contrasts with the negative reviews here. They have always been friendly and helpful. We have made several moves with W Hallett & Co in the 12 years that we have used them and frankly we couldn't imagine using any other estate agent. We are forced to remain in Kew! Giles always manages to find the perfect property and dealing with Halletts is always a pleasure. We've been renting through Hallett & Co since December 15 and we only have positive things to say about them. The whole team are approachable, friendly, efficient and get on the case of any issues with the property straight away. They also have some great contractors to call on, plumbers, electricians etc, who are also very reliable. We love the fact that they haven't lost that traditional and local approach to things, unlike most of the bigger agents. We highly recommend Halletts. Hope...

We have been renting through Halletts for 18 months now. Giles was incredibly helpful when we first moved to London, ensuring all our worries were sorted with our landlady and the tenants association. Moved to Kew in late 2015 and Giles and his team were brilliant! We had an issue needing a ground floor, two bed apartment that would accept our dog and from the beginning dealing with Giles he sorted everything for us, even writing a Toby clause into the contract (that's was the dogs name). Unfortunately we no longer have Toby but love the apartment and dealing with Halletts is always simple and professional....

We have been renting from Giles for over 5 years now and he has been a pleasure to deal with since day one. When showing us around he never once tried to over embellish it like others in the same industry do and was very upfront and honest. Since moving in, whenever we have had an issue or needed anything, Giles can't help quickly enough. After 4 years of being a tenant through Hallett and Co, it is a complete relief to have moved and no longer have to deal with them. Every question raised with them / problem reported has always involved subsequent phone calls, emails, even visits direct to the branch in a desperate bid to get Giles to even acknowledge any form of contact, let alone deal with the issue. I contacted several agents in Kew to help me with my rental search in April 2014. I had a very difficult specification. I needed a place which allowed dogs and I needed to move in within 7 days of when I called these agents. Giles helped me find the right flat, arranged the viewing very quickly and sorted out the contract in a timely manner. We could not have been more pleased with the service. Communication with the agent was extremely difficult, with enquiries being ignored and problems not being solved. When problems were reported, neither the agent nor the landlord came to inspect the property, despite the fact that the problems, i.e. mould, could have a long term damaging effect on the property. Agent Fees

All prospective Tenants should be aware that if they enter into any Tenancy of a property through Halletts they will incur costs as detailed below.

Tenant Administration Fees

These apply to every Tenancy and are charged at £150 plus VAT for an application by a single Tenant and £200 plus VAT for an application by two Tenants in respect of all properties where the rental payable does not exceed £2000 per calendar month.

£250 plus VAT will be charged for all Tenancies where the rental value of the property exceeds £2000 per calendar month or when an application is made by three or more Tenants regardless of the rental payable.

Administration charges are a one off fee payable in cleared funds prior to the commencement of any Tenancy and no further charges made to the tenant upon any Tenancy renewal.

Inventory Check Out Fee

In most cases Tenants will have an obligation to pay for the cost of Inventory Check Out Fee upon the termination of the Tenancy likely to be in the region of £85-200 but will vary depending on the size of the property concerned and whether it is furnished or unfurnished. Inventory charges may be subject to change.

End of Tenancy Cleaning

The Tenancy Agreement will contain an obligation for Tenants to arrange and pay for the cost of the property and any contents, fixtures and fittings therein to be fully and professionally deep cleaned upon the termination of the contract – similar cleaning will be carried out just prior to the commencement of your Tenancy.

The likely cost is difficult to assess and will depend on the condition the property has been left in, size, carpeting and furnishings etc. but a rough guide would be:

1 bed property £150-250
2 bed property £200-300
3 bed property £300-350
4+ bed property £400+
