Moving down to London meant that most of the contact was by email and phone and I always had a very prompt positive response to all my queries. Do NOT rely on this agent, especially if you are a international student and do not have a UK-based guarantor. Have you even heard of anything like having to pay a full 12 months rent BEFORE the agent gets the landlord to sign his part of the contract (insisting it is standard procedure and the landlord wouldn't run away with my money)? Other people working in the same office doesn't seem to know about that "standard procedure"? One agent saying there will be massive increase in rent i...

Williams Lewis pride ourselves on our professionalism and our ethics and morals. The majority of our properties are owned by large corporate clients who often take a different approach to individual landlords. The tenants in this case were from Hong Kong and could not provide proof of income, bank accounts or a guarantor in the UK. It was the tenants and not ourselves that offered to pay 12 months rental in advance, this ensured they got the property moments from University College London which ....
