Me and my family have been with whitegates for about 8 1,2 year we moved in to 9 allwood close October 2014 , as soon as we moved in we had water coming down the walls and droplets on the ceiling, we kept telling Kim and Avril which they didn't want to know and said to contact the landlord which he didn't live in this country or his sister who lived next door to us and she we should go through whitegates, the sister in the end gave us a dehumidifier, we had black mould all over the bungalow, and whitegates kept telling us they have never had a problem and all they would do is email the landlord, I just felt we was getting on there nerves, and they didn't want to know, then my partner went in to whitegates and demanded someone come and see what we are living with then I get an email off the landlord and he sent a couple of men round after Christmas to have alook and they both said this mould just don't come up overnight so they put some air vents in the roof which didn't do a thing so we moved out after 6 months , I ask Kim to email the landlord because he said when the bungalow had dried out he was going to decorate and and he emailed Kim back saying he would but when we moved out he wanted our bond for decorating so we went to whitegates and ask Kim and Avril about the email the landlord sent them and they said they have got nothing to do with it and because we was upset we was told to get out the shop, we had six months of hell and they was trying to take our bond , after the dispute we got our bond back but I really feel like I have been let down, we really feel upset at the way we have been treated from the landlord and his sister and part of the staff at whitegates

I had up until very recently 2 rental properties managed by Whitegates in Mansfield. I recently requested a duplicate statement for one of these properties for which I was charged £50.00!
This statement that was sent by e-mail 10 minutes after requesting it and a fee of this amount smacks of profiteering.
How can a company justify a charge of this amount for this service that took 10 minutes to deliver? I'd love one of the company Directors to justify it to me.
Unfortunately I feel that this poor attitude to customer service is prevailing at this particular branch and I would struggle to recommend their services to anyone.
Come on Whitegates tell me how you can charge me £50.00 for an e-mail statement?

I found Mrs Gibbons and Avril Davis to be very helpful in many ways, They were understanding and nothing was to much bother.
I had not rented before and didn't have a glue, they advised be on the property size and price range to look at taking into account my needs and income, worked out what i would be paying out monthly ie council tax, water rates etc
In fact they were brill, found me a nice place to live I was bricking it when I went into that office but was soon at ease with the way I was greeted and now a happy guy in my nice apartment , would advise anyone looking for a new home to give Whitegates a go, spot on.

I was a tenant for one year with Whitegates at 12 Orchid Way, Shirebrook. No complaints with the company until the time came to recieving my £575 deposit bond back. At the end of our tenancy agreement on 6th October one of their agents arranged a time to meet us to check the house for cleanliness, damages and hand over keys. I presumed the Landlord would have been there at the time to inspect and state any issues he had there and then. Instead the agent had a very breif look around the house said everything was ok, and said we would receive our despoit bond back in a cheque as soon as the landlord had inspected it. It took a week for the landlord to check, he stated he was not happy and wanted a cupboard wiping, a couple of shoe marks removing and the garden weeding. This was annoying as two of these job could have been done if he was present at the meeting with the agent. We then had to drive back to the agency to pick the keys up to complete these jobs. another 2 weeks after Whitegates stated he still is not happy and wants £200 for another wall that needs painting ?? No mention of this in his first inspection. I refused to pay the £200 as it is exstreamly unreasonable as there is no damage within the house and it is very clean - Whitegates stated it takes 6 weeks to make an offical complant and the landlord will have to prove repairs to the house in receipts. Obviously the Landlord is a shark who is trying to find any excuse not to pay us back the deposit but I feel Whitegates policy is poor in terms of protecting the customer from an unreasonale Landlord. I feel it is the whole policy is a deliberate ploy to .attept withhold and if possible not pay back the £ 575 bond. Whitegates should make an arrangement for the landlord, agent and tenants to be there at the inspection of the house. Not a happy customer and still in dispute with Whitegates and the Landlord.

Excellent advice and service!
Initially me and my husband were not sure wether to sell or rent our property, so when Avril from Whitegates came around she gave us values and advice on both selling and letting. We were asking lots of questions especially as we were swaying towards letting and knew nothing about this, each question was answered and we were not rushed to stop so that she could go. Once we had decided to let, the property was put on the market immediately and a tenant was found very quickly with no need for us to chase Whitegates at all. Since tenant was found they have kept me well informed as to what is happening and what stage in the process we are at.
Would highly recommend Whitegates to anyone.

We were tenants of Whitegates and was looking for a bungalow to buy, once we had moved into the area.
Avril and Georgina kept in touch with us all the time and kept on eye on the market for us until a bungalow came up that they knew would be perfect for us. We were the first people to view it and offered on it straight away becuase it was in the right location and had all the features we needed. I can't prasie them enough for the effort they put in to find the right bungalow for us. The bungalow needed work and they recomended a builder, all the work was done before we had to move out the one we were renting through them. I feel very fortunate to have found an agent that looked after us so well.

I have rented a house through Whitegates Mansfield Branch. I'd have just relocated back in to the area after a number of years and looked at many houses with many agents. Some houses with other agents were of a very poor quality. I found one with Whitegates that was of an excellent standard. The Branch Manager Avril showed me around the house and was very helpful with advice on the whole renting process. Donna in the office was also very helpful. I am very happy in my home and hope to stay for a long time.

I had the tenant from Hell. Didn't pay for 6 months, broke the doors, needed evicting. Whitegates calmly dealt with insurers, police, courts and liaised with trades to repair the property. Their preferred rent guarantee did pay (unlike other firms i've used). Top marks all round. I also have... Read Full Review

I was very disappointed with the length of time it took to actually set up the management of the propert,y around 2 months and I was the one doing all the chasing. There is very little communication from them and I had to chase them in order to be sent a monthly account. The rent is late and they do not seem to be making much effort to follow up with this. When I do receive emails, they are very badly written with atrocious English and spelling and often look like they have been written by a non English speaking person. My tenants have complained to me about the tone of letters sent to them by Whitegates. I am myself renting and am very impressed with the agent I use. I had to find an agent quickly for my property and thought Whitegates would be reliable, being a big company. At the moment I am not in a position to look for another agent, but would do so if I had more time and it was not so costly. I would not use them again given the choice.
