I was initially pleased that Ward and partners were the sol agent for the property that we wanted to purchase. So we met up with the financial advisor initially he seemed ok a bit scatty but reason to worry. I was keen to get things moving and I thought that if I accepted their legal agents Martin Tolhurst (AVOID) and the life/Mortgage insurance Legal and General. (AVOID)
So first to make contact was Tolhurst solicitors an absolute nightmare to deal with email and after email then they wanted me to travel over an hour to their offices to produce a document that I had produced via email. Attention to detail is extremely poor for a solicitors. How they manage to do conveyancing I don't know.
Then Legal and general called me saying that I needed to attend Harley st clinic for a 1 hr medical when I refused I was told the doctor would attend the house I reluctantly agreed.
Then having spoke with many people they said just go on line to find insurance which we did and cancelled my NASA space program medical asking them to cancelled the Harley st doctor which they said they would. A few days later at 1930hrs the Harley St doc arrived at the house.... You just couldn't make it up.
By this time all had gone very Q with regards to our application for our mortgage we were using Mr Andrew S as an advisor we never received updates so I had to go in to speak with him and tell him that we had heard that the surveyor had been told that we had back out of the sale. He could not provide an acceptable answer and Lee the manager was no better. I phoned many times but I was unable to speak with Andrew or Manager Lee No call backs from them. I emailed Andrew re a number of issues No reply.
Eventually ward and Partners contacted my wife to tell her the sale had fallen though vis the vendor. But they said they would do every thing to find something else (Which they failed to do) It took Andrew a week to get hold of Andrew he made an appointment for me to review the situation. I arrived on time to be told he was running late by 10 mins acceptable I guess. 35 minutes later still no Andrew so that was it. I went else where. I sacked the lot of them Ward and Partners, Martin Tolhurst and Legal & General all incompetent in my view.
We have since found a new advisor and within 1 week had our mortgage secured and new solicitors are very quick it has shown us how V incompetent the other actually were. All that I ever wanted was a competent reliable service with good communications regular updates. Sadly that never happen.
I hate complaining it takes up so much time and is so very negative but unfortunately I could not see or find any positive, oh except Andrew was very proud that he answered my email and within 17 minutes when I announced I no longer wanted his services. I was then sent several waffling emails excuse after excuse.
And the ironic thing about all this was that upon speaking with friends a lot of them would say oh I could of told you to stay away from Wards and not to use their advisor. Now they tell me. Very disappointed and surprised they still trade, they deserve NO stars in my book.

Both our selling agent and our solicitor only ever reacted when we phoned, emailed or presented ourselves at the office. We were at the point of exchanging when things came to a standstill once again. However this time we contacted Matt and within a short space of time he phoned to inform us we had exchanged. Amazing! (Our solicitor phoned 30 minutes later with the same news). Matt was the only person who had been proactive.

However Matt very quickly arranged for us to view some others which were for sale and liaised successfully with the seller of the one which we have now bought. Matt also recommended a firm of solicitors Martin Tolhurst who have been marvellous. Having recently sold my mothers flat through another estate agent and different solicitors I feel that I can give a very honest opinion. Use Wards ask for Matt and use their solicitors. Matt is EXCEPTIONAL.

While undertaking a fairly lengthy search for the right property in Deal, Matthew was unfailingly helpful and accommodating in arranging viewings etc. He was very likeable, friendly, honest and professional in his approach - demonstrated by such actions as always phoning when he said he would (a rare trait with estate agents in my experience). I was particularly pleased with Demi Crick. She co-ordinated the sale with friendly professionalism and negotiated well between myself and the vendor, during a difficult time (me awaiting Grant of Probate and bad survey/damp report - the vendor living overseas).
Demi didn't fail to answer my questions and went out of her way to help. She was honest and friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to go to her again.
Aimee was my first point of contact for the purchase and she was really friendly and helpful. I am sure she would have been as good as Demi had it been her remit to continue the sale.

Bought a property though Wards of deal after a bad experience with the Dover branch . From the outset poor communication. I sensed that after 4 weeks with no news that there was a problem with our purchase ( The owners of the property I was purchasing were also very unhappy with wards of deal). Paid for survey then had several Emails ignored and I lost count of the amount of times I hear " I'll call you back ! And 90 percent of the time this would not happen.A really horrible experience and I will never use wards again for buying or selling even If they gave me a 50 percent of voucher.I was also advised by a member of staff to offer 150k when the property owner had already told me that she needed 160k. I understand Ward and partners use a hard sell approach but i feel that out an out fabrication of the truth is unfair to both the buyer and seller.Well done wards another happy customer.

It took a long time to eventually effect a satisfactory sale in a very difficult marketing time. Wards never lost their enthusiasm and were continually thinking up fresh marketing methods. The staff were friendly and helpful and carried out all viewings on our behalf. The regular marketing reports were very helpful and we were always kept well informed of the results of all viewings. With plenty of local branch offices throughout the South East, I feel sure that our sale reached the widest market. Keep up the good work!

I have been searching to purchase a house in Deal and used the Deal office of Ward. Although I eventually brought another house through a different Agent, the Deal office were extremely helpful, both with prospective properties, telephone appointments and actually showing me around potential houses.
