Biggleswade is an up and coming market town located on the river Ivel in Bedfordshire with an approximate population of 14,500. On a practical front, the town provides a mainline railway station offering services to a number of major destinations including Kings Cross in just 38 minutes. This makes the town an ideal place to set up home whilst working in London. Access to larger towns, such as Bedford, Stevenage and Hitchin is provided by the A1 and all are within a 20 minute drive. The historical city of Cambridge lies to the east of the region, 23 miles away.
The town itself provides a variety of shops and pubs and a local market every Saturday. Also there are a variety of good lower, middle and upper schools to suit all levels of education. There is a very comprehensive leisure centre which was opened in 1998 and one of its many features is a swimming pool. The fees were outlined completely at the start, no nasty surprises and I liked the way the office operate their caravan system so that everyone who worked in the process is recognised. In our situation the team worked hard to market our property and actually got us more than ours asking price so the fee was worth it.
