As first time buyers of a property being sold by Samson and George, my partner and I had a very positive experience with the sellers agent, Nicholas Smirthwaite. Nick was always professional, friendly, and gave sound advice throughout the whole process. We never felt like we were treated as a potential sale, instead we felt consistently supported and reassured. He's a genuinely nice and trustworthy guy. Our purchase took 6 months from the acceptance of our offer to completion. Unfortunately our...

It took 12 months to sell my house but at all times Nick was very kind and helpful. He remained positive when I felt negative and managed to cheer me up when I thought that the house would never sell. He never once pressurized me and I always very confident that he would eventually succeed in selling the house. At the end of the transaction things became very "hairy" but once again he never panicked and was able to get to the root of the problem and resolve the issues so that the excha...

Comment on agent fees
No one likes paying stamp duty or estate agent fees but in my case it took such a long time that Nick earned his fees!!!!!!

I don't write reviews very often and I never thought I would be writing a very positive one about an estate agent. I have to say that the whole experience was positive. Any hitches were instantly resolved and he went the extra mile to keep the whole chain informed at all of the time. I have no hesitancy in recommending Nicholas at Samsome and George. Professional, hardworking, approachable and thorough....

Our apprehensions about selling our house were soon dismissed after meeting with Nicholas Smirthwaite. We were right to be positive. I can't believe we are saying this about an Estate Agent, but he has been nothing but outstanding. He was always punctual for the viewings, and very personable with the prospective buyers. Being part of a relatively long 'chain' and the concerns that brings with it, has been made easy by the regular reassuring updates on progress. Towards the exchange of contracts ...

I'm not a fan of Estate Agents. I think I have most people's attitude that it's a lot of money for what? But let me tell you of our experience with the sale of our house in Burghfield Common. It went onto the market in 2012 with an upmarket company in Reading. After two visits in the first month it seemed to be transferred to a partner company in Burghfield Common to take the lead. Our thoughts had been that putting it with a reading estate agent it might pull someone who needed a bigger hou...

Simply the best! I have just moved into a new house in Mortimer after a searching for almost a year. Throughout that year I have been dealing with Nick Smirthwaite - not only has he helped me find the \'right house\' but he also helped me secure a mortgage. Nick is totally honest and straightforward to deal with - he is 100% professional at the same time as being a nice guy! I have no hesitation in recommending Sansome and George ( and Nick) to anyone who is looking in the Mortimer area....

Having just bought through Sansome and George Mortimer, we found the agents there (in particular, Nick) to be friendly, courteous, and very helpful. While we were looking for a new house, they kept us posted as to properties they thought we would be interested in. Viewings were arranged quickly and at convenient times. Once we had an offer accepted, Sansome and George worked hard to get all parties in a position to exchange, helping to iron out any issues that arose. We would definitely reco...

Do not touch them !!!! Instructed them to sell our house in July - over promised but under delivered , managed to produce one unprofessional external photo of our property in four months but no floor plan - persuaded us to sell it for £30 k under their valuation for a quick sale, there was nothing quick about it! Did nothing for us "their client" - allowed our sale to fall through due to their incompetence and lazy attitude. When we wrote a complaint to the the Managing Director...

Absolutely disappointed with the very poor service in the Mortimer office, the man roger who dealt with us was rude and very unprofessional .when we had the viewing he knew nothing about the property, he said they would phone the landlord for answers and phone us. Heard nothing went in the next day he said he knew nothing and the day after that we went in again and he still knew nothing. Had to find out the information from the landlord myself. Landlord had a meeting with the estate agents and r...

Absolutely terrible customer service. As I walked into the mortimer office, neither of the two people in the office acknowledged me. I tried to arrange a viewing and was told that they just needed to make a call. I did not hear anything and called again to leave my details. Again, did not hear anything. So I went back to the office in person. It was then that I learnt that the very unhelpful, miserable man that was dealing with me was the PRINCIPLE OF THE COMPANY! When I asked why he had not ...
