Every student approaches the task of finding accommodation with at least some level of trepidation. This is, in most cases, entirely justified. 8 years in Brighton & Hove renting properties and with the letting agencies not always a good experience. In this case Mylets and specially Bryony top ten. Had a few little issues the day that I moved and she sorted it out in less than 24 hours... Terrific! As an ex tenant of Harrington Road I would like to say that the flat had a lot of problems at first which were dealt with quickly and efficiently by Kirsten. Kirsten kept me informed regarding repairs at all times which eased the way into the letting stress free. Found our property via mylets, and dealt with Rich who was both friendly and professional and sorted out all the details promptly and with no fuss. His customer service skills were impeccable and communicated with us on a regular basis to ensure we were comfortable and sorted in our new property. I wish I had gone elsewhere! A tenant moved into my house last week, I am yet to receive any money, any communication, a copy of the contract, I don't even know if a contract has been signed or how long for. My tenant advised me that she was moving in and on what date. The communication is appalling. Mylets have failed me at every single point of contact and I wish I had never rented from them. From lying to me at the initial viewing (Richard) changing my move in date at the last minute, lying about the reason for the change, attempting to 'steal' money from me by making 'a mistake' on the recording of how much deposit I had paid, to the ABSOLUTE UNPROFFESSIONALISM of each and every member of staff I have had contact with. I was due to view a property at 5pm on Harrington Road on 24/06/15. I arrived 5 mins early to be on time and waited until 5.15pm for the Richard (My Lets Agent) to arrive but he didn't so I called the office. I can honestly say that I wish I had never rented from 'My Lets'. Property was advertised as ewly carpeted and painted and professionaly cleaned. I enter the property to find a nasty, damaged carpet, black mould up the walls and all over the bathroom!a broken a stench that made my eyes water! Listen, don\'t talk over peole like your opinion is more important (you\'re almost always wrong) Be accountable for your actions stop lying to people stop kidding yourself that you are actually able to handle the workload that you have, seen as that was always your excuse for not actually doing your jobs. oh..and change your attitudes..they stink worse than the flats that you rent out to people. stop presuming that everyone you deal with has absolutely no intelligence it\'s a disgusting atitude to have. I am the mother and guarantor for my son who moved into this flat in September 2013. The rent comes directly from my account. The flat was a state when they moved in. It had not been cleaned and needed painting. My Lets said that they would send someone round - they never did. Most appalling customer service ever, the woman who is supposed to be in charge of the accounts couldn't even work out the maths of my rent, I had to do it for her. Nothing was ever fixed. The workman they use are terrible so nothing ever gets done. I was regularly without hot water in the first 8 months I was there. And on leaving have been charged £50 just to move out - the check out lady didn't even know anything about this! absolute con of a company. One of the worst i have ever rented...

Never called me back, I made an offer for a flat, had to chase them up for a WHOLE WEEK to hear an answer. They\'re rude, cold lifeless estate agents who have no interest and enthusiasm in what they\'re doing. Worst agents. No manners. Not be moody. Answer my calls. Get back to me. Listen/acknowledge voicemails. Don\'t leave me on hold for 40 mins. Smile. Don\'t look like you don\'t give a shit. Actually be helpful e cause you\'re changing ppls lives and giving them security in finding a place to live.

Fees

We are required by law to disclose all charges and the information given below is provided to ensure you are fully informed of any fees and costs involved in renting a property through My Lets. If you have any question at all then please give a member of the My Team call and we will be happy to talk you through everything.

Agency Fees

Tenancy Application Fee £198 per adult applicant inc VAT

Guarantor Application Fee £96 in VAT

Company Application Fee £420 inc VAT

Check Out Fee £60 inc VAT

Renewal Fee £60 inc VAT

Prior to moving in you need to pay:

One month's rent in advance (this amount could be more if you opt to pay in advance for 6 or 12 months)

Tenancy deposit - Usually equal to 6 weeks rent, but if a larger deposit is required you will be notified (ie if you pay an additional pet deposit)
