We approached Miller Countrywide in Cornwall to view a property.
As expected they asked for our buying position before arranging a viewing, but then shockingly expected us to send all our financial information to them by email before they would allow a viewing to take place. That is just to to view a property, not make an offer, and an expectation that we would send bank statements to them by unsecured email.
I refused and noted I considered their information collection to excessive and therefore unlawful under GDPR. The person I was talking to stated that this was their Covid policy and that she would get her office manager to call me back.
1 month later we have still not been contacted by them.

Horrendous!!!
£900 and SIX MONTHS UP FRONT. They claimed that was the landlords decision, it wasn't, it was there's. You are paying so much for a company that does nothing at all! Except sits on your money and fails at its job.

Honestly, please please save yourself from dealing with this appalling company. Not only are you looking at paying 900 in fees, but you are also tying yourself into a company that has the most terrible service to both landlord and tenant you could imagine. Firstly, they informed us that the landlord had demanded we pay 6 months rent upfront, and then told us our move in date was a date they would provide and it was unnegoable. During the years renting process Millers misplaced our money, in some off shore account, SEVEN TIMES! They kept ringing up accusing us of not paying, meaning we had to keep coming into branch with evidence. staff are generally unhelpful and rude, and contradict each other CONSTANTLY. You can never get a straight answer out of anyone. When we were finally able to break free from Millers under contract, we moved out and awaited our deposit. It took them a month and a half, with constant calling and catching up. They then deduced a late fee from us, for the money they had lost! Whatever you do DO NOT let with Millers Countrywide, you will spend your time being lied to, as they blame the landlord for all their mistakes, and to the landlord they blame the tenants! The most unprofessional company out there. Please take my warning.

They took 300 deposit from me and did NOT explain that it would be non-refundable.They couldn t show me the flat as they didnt have the keys.Within 24 hours of them taking my hard earned cash i told them the flat would not be suitable because of parking issues. They refused to return my money..said it was in the small print. I hadn t seen any forms let alone small print! I wrote to their head office 6 weeks ago with a letter of complaint, sent by registered post. I have not received even an acknowledgement of that letter. I am appalled

Having agreed to purchase the property in question, the property was withdrawn from the Market by this estate agency as requested. I began searches through our solicitor. All parties were agreed on the sale. During this time the property was subsequently readvertised without my knowledge or my solicitor's knowledge and this agency has since sold the property to another party. I am disgusted with the lack of quality of service, poor professionalism shown and no apology or explanation given. I am also disgusted with the vendor's solicitors which are a well known outfit in St. Austell who throughout July and August this year were problematic and inaccurate in their legal proceedings. The estate agent in question even made false claims on how my solicitor responded just last week when pushed on why they had not offered up to the new buyers the paid for searches already completed! Clearly a lack of morales and ethics are prevalent with this particular representative and office. I would not recommend any dealings through this estate agency. Absolutely terrible service and experience! Much better estate agents out there.

Appalling. I cannot find one good thing to say about the way I have been treated by Millers. Incompetent staff through and through. Problems with previous tenants made me consider not continuing letting my property out. Not helped at all by Millers who never returned my calls regarding issues with the tenants. When they left, the house was a mess. Brand new carpets filthy, curtains trashed beyond repair and an awful lot more. Millers did not get this all fixed. I never got the deposit I was due and never had further calls returned on the matter.
I cannot list everything that has gone wrong here but have never been treated this badly in my life. I will add that I paid the full 'care package' too. Ha ..Joke...
