Terrible agency, stay away at ALL costs! Members of staff are extremely rude, unhelpful, uninformative and have very poor people skills. When I first moved into the property, there was a leak in the kitchen from under the sink - I was going away on holiday so informed the agency that a plumber needed to be sent out - I asked them to keep me up-to-date on any work being undertaken as I couldn't be around and didn't feel comfortable having workmen in the property without me being present. Occasionally need a nudge when asking question's of a landlord. The directors were very slow to issue a refund of accidentally overpaid rent & charged me £20 for the privilege (as per TOC apparently but who reads ALL the small print) The staff I have dealt with have all been really friendly & helpful even when I have been a little grumpy so nothing but praise there. Comment on agent fees
Don\'t like fees for \"credit search\" etc as most other business types do them for free !!! but it seems Letting agencies use this as an excuse for making a bit extra towards there running costs. This is a general comment and is not aimed at MBM directly.

MBM dealt with our tenancy agreement very quickly and efficiently. We were in a rush to get into the house so this was very helpful! We have contacted them on a number of occasions in regards to our property for maintenance or to request pets and they have always dealt with our requests efficiently without us having to chase them up. We moved to France 9 years ago and left our property in the capable hands of MBM Derby. They gave us good advice from Day 1, and we had virtually full rental occupancy for all that time. We have now sold the house and so no longer need their services, but would wholeheartedly recommend them....

absolutely the worst rental agency in derby and i have used a fair few. They don\'t care for the tenants one bit- they are there to line the landlords pockets because they are the ones they need to keep happy to continue to get income. Their staff are rude - from inspections (especially the moody approaching-30 lady who visits mostly - cheer up love, you might get a decent job one day!) through to their phone calls which they on the whole, answer badly and are grumpy. I don\'t even know how to describe this agency apart from - far the worst I have ever used! I got home late after work just to find a letter from MBM Property informing me that they are undertaking an inspection of my home THE NEXT DAY! So much for any notice, so I can at least find someone who can be present during the inspection, as I don\'t like them coming in without anyone being there. This letting agent is by fat the worst I have ever had to deal with, the lack of communication is atrocious!!! They are so disorganised none of the staff seem to know what is going on!! When reporting maintaince problems they take months to sort things and and are usually not completed to a very high standard! I would recommend to anyone NOT to use this letting agent as I have been nothing but disappointed! I think it is absolutely discuisting the way you are treated by this company!!!!...

Tenants left house dirty, stains on carpets, marks on walls and doors and items missing for which no explanation was ever given. Check out inventory was poor, many of above items missed by MBM, either I had to point them out, or I discovered things later-too late. I felt what compensation I was offered was way too low, some repairs were attended to, but others- I got the impression they just couldn\'t be bothered. What agent could do to change your mind?
Communication could have been much better. Agent could have done much more to have made tenants keep property in better condition, e.g.they didn\'t even expect carpets to be cleaned on vacating property (every other letting agent expects this) Agent failed to get tenants to sign standing order. I was the one chasing them for the rent at one point.

This is the worst management company we have ever had the misfortune to deal with. The staff never give their names, never call back and never have any record of any complaints that have been registered. What agent could do to change your mind?
property should have been cleaned before we moved in, decoration is very poor. Staff are rude and slam phone down. Staff should give their names and keep to appointments It is not normal to have to clean doors, walls, windows etc every day due to the huge build up of mould. When staff say \"they\'ve made a note of something\" they should probably do so and not pretend something was never reported.

I have used 2 other letting agents in the past (frank Innes and IMS lettings) which i have had no problem with in getting my deposit back. MBM management are very unorganised especially when it comes to returning deposits. Their paperwork is not filled out correctly. The only deposit issue was on this occasion was cleaning. The cost of this was agreed to by the tenant and the remaining monies paid back. Regards MBM....

I could not advise highly enough to NOT TO USE MBM MANAGEMENT and to avoid them at all costs!!!!!!!!!! I'm currently in the process of legal procreeding against them. While in my tentance I was made redundent and the other tentant let the property, lucky we were on a rolling on contract at the time. I made them aware of this in March and confirmed that I would have no choice but to leave at the end of Apirl as the other tentant had agreed to pay his half of the rent for the Apirl rent but...

MBM Management wish it to be known that legal proceedings were not brought. The dispute was handled correctly in house between ourselves and Mr Taylor under the terms and conditions of the Housing Act and the Tenancy Deposit Scheme.....

I have to agree with the first review on here. I spent an afternoon calling Letting Agents as i am in the process of letting my home and do not have an agent as yet. The person i spoke to at MBM came across quite arrogant over the telephone and kept telling me to refer to the website for their pricing structure etc but could talk me through it. Helen - How can you say your staff are trained and do not respond in an inappropriate manner? Clearly this lady has been spoken to rudely and her custom has been dismissed. As a representative of MBM Management your first priority should be to apologise! Perhaps this shows everybody exactly what Sarah meant, customer satisfaction is clearly not one of your priority concerns!....
