I have been renting via Martin&Co since August - I've had two important maintenance issues that should have been resolved within a week and both have taken more than 3 weeks and constant chasing to be actioned - ridiculous!! Would not recommend and will not be renting via them... Read Full Review

I had a bad experience today with Martin and Co. I selected a property at Bridge water place in Leeds and the viewing time was fixed at 13.30 pm . The lady agent told me to be there on time as she has multiple viewing after my viewing. To respect her time and request , I reached there on 13.17 pm... Read Full Review

Comments (1)I had a bad experience today with Martin and Co. I selected a property at Bridge water place in Leeds and the viewing time was fixed at 13.30 pm . The lady agent told me to be there on time as she has multiple viewing after my viewing. To respect her time and request , I reached there on 13.17 pm and called their office to re-confirm the entrance of the property. I kept on waiting there and it was very cold and windy today and some construction work is going on at that place. So I took refuge at the panini shop right across the main gate. I kept an eye to the gate if someone comes then I can walk to the gate immediately. In the meantime it was 13.45 and no one showed up. Called their office once again and reconfirm is she is coming. One of their agent constantly calling my name wrongly and told me that she is pulling up and will be there any moment. 10 more mins and no one showed up. I again called their office and when I kept the phone then I saw a missed call from unknown number. Mind it she is suppose to show up at 13.30 and she was already late. The number called me again and informed me that I was not at the gate and she came on time and now she left the place and that property I saw has been allocated to someone else.

Amazingly she lied to me and even if she had come but SHE CAME LATE and should have waited for couple of mins as I was talking to her office why she is late and when I can see the place.
I called up their office and spoke to the guy (who constantly calling my name wrong) that after 1 hour he will call me . He was apologetic and told me that go back to my office and their will be a after hearing etc.

This is a greedy agent. They deducted £180 of my deposit for dust and other silly things, although I have cleaned everything. This is a greedy agent. They deducted £180 of my deposit for dust and other silly things, although I have cleaned everything. They definitely always use tenants' deposits to hire professional cleaners.

When in the flat, she didn't take us round, didn't explain anything. Literally just stood in the living room like a lemon.
Was very keen to get us out, made no attempt to ask us what we thought of the flat or if we even wanted to sign for it etc.
Also when we did ask her questions she didn't seem to know anything.
Overall very unprofessional, bit of a waste of time.

Friendly but incompetent staff who are intent on doing the bare minimum. No inventory was performed on the flat I moved into despite me repeatedly requesting it prior to moving it. The inventory eventually provided was out of date, leading me to make 40+ changes to it in a one bedroom flat! The flat wasn't clean despite assurances it'd be professionally cleaned. The front door's lock had problems, the boiler was broken, washing machine broken, balcony door lock was broken when I moved in. Why none of this was not addressed before I moved in I'll never know.

The staff have been ok at addressing these issues, but I can only consider them to be unprofessional for allowing the flat to be in such a state upon moving in.

I visited this branch last week and saw 4 apartments. I walked into the shop at 13:00 and by 13:15 I was stood inside the first one. The agent was very knowledgeable about the area and the apartments. I would definitely recommend the Leeds city branch to anyone looking to rent in leeds!... Read Full Review
