Having a property for let and unhappy with current agent we asked for a visit to discuss our options. The gentleman who attended, I believe he told us he was the director, was very aggressive in his manner and made us feel pressured to make a decision at that time. We decided to put our property with another agent who seemed to be far more knowledgably and with a far better approach....

Absolutely terrible dealings with Martin and Co we had a number of complaints which were only dealt with when we refused to resign the contract before then we were completely ignored and they claimed we had never mentioned anything. Nearer the end of our tenancy we felt rather victimised with any disturbances or problems in the block blamed on us without any proof (none of which were to do with us). Disgusting service in my opinion...

The worst letting agent I've ever had to deal with. Totally unorganised and very selfish attitude to their business. They are very quick to get things sorted when they are at risk of being out of pocket but are quite happy to sit around and take their time when it's the other way around. If you are a student you may well vacate the house during holiday periods. Martin and co use this period to send very urgent letters ordering us to change their account detail else face fines for late payment...

Apart from a short difficult period a while ago which has now certainly passed, I have always received a most professional and competent service from them. I moved from my previous letting agents to Martin & Co after receiving a poor service. Martin & Co swiftly arranged for my properties outstanding problems to be quickly rectified, which were neglected by the previous company. Communication between myself and the agent have been excellent, meaning we have developed a trusting working relationship already. I would recommend Martin & Co to any landlord in the Portsmouth and Southsea area....

Having used a different branch of Martins in Brighton, I invited them to give me a rental valuation. The young girl Amy that came out initially said that without seeing the property, that in that particular area I would easily achieve £850, when she came and actually looked at the property she said £750 !! quite a bit of difference. I was a tenant with Martin & Co between 2009+2010. Firstly they were happy to let a property where the bathroom had a ceiling that was thick black with mould. The place was full of moth balls which stunk the place out royally. I never actually got the smell out of the flat in the whole 12 months I was there. There was no silicone sealant around the bath and the tiles so the walls got so damp that the tiles actually fell off the wall in places. I sorted this all out myself. Anyway I av...

Can honestly say I would rather be homeless than deal with these again. Can\'t believe how we were spoken to by the manager Kerry zebedee, absolutely vile human! All they were interested in was getting as much money out of us as possible and once you hand over anything they have you and their attitudes completely change! If I had the time I would stand outside their office warning people not to hand over any money to them, biggest mistake!!!!...

I had a property that was being managed by Martin & co, i have not a good word to say about them. I had to phone them up for every problem that we had with the flat from roof leaks to a tenant that was not paying rent some months. they would say they had contacted the tenant and the guarantor and we found out later that they had not done anything. We were so fed up of not getting any communication from them. we were getting to the stage when we could just about manage to pay the mortgage....

Having dealt with many agents in the past, martin and co are but far the worst agent I have had the displeasure to deal with, which was out of necessity, full of false promises, with a take your money and wash your hands approach. Having tried to recover my rent deposit which has proved difficult at best, poor communication, lack of customer service, time keeping and response to requests totally inadequate....

the agent should have met with me at many request to hand over apartment at the end of the lease, the review written was unfair and inconsequential, no passage of information from landlord to tenant. in the end I had to enlist the help of a credit collection agency.

As the Landlord, I stipulated in my instructions that they Martin & Co should not sign tenancy agreement on my behalf but they did. Martin & Co then installed a convicted criminal in my property that was known to them, the police, and the council. They did NOT even reference the tenant, who sublet my property and turned it into a HMO and a revolving door for drug dealers! I\'ve been with them for 2 years, on 2 different properties and they have been professional and very efficient from start (on time for viewings) to end (prompt deposit back). Most importantly, I never had to chase them about paperwork and replied to my emails promptly....

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service, the Office Manager Kerri Zebedee was very rude and impolite, and lied to us on 2 occasions, directly contradicting emails that she had sent us, When we referenced these, she would refuse to comment. We have now raised the inconsistent service with the Ombudsman and hopefully others will complain to strengthen the case. We currently have no complaints with The Properrty Ombudsman and none of our staff let out properties with us. we have no idea who this individual is but he is welcome to contact the Director to discuss the matter.....

I lost £350 as my car broke down and i could not get the relevant paperwork to them on the day they said. They did not tell me i would lose the flat if i did not bring in the paperwork that day and i gave them plenty of notice that i could not come that day. I was also treated like an idiot throughout the whole process by the manager who looked and acted like she would be better suited to working elsewhere. Disgusted....

Paid the admin fees and after i signed the forms was then informed i had to pay an extra £100 on top of that. Was told the landlord would accept £550 again once i had given them the admin fees was told it would be £580, only £30 but still should have been told exactly what i would have to pay in the first place. Customer service was awful and i was treated like a criminal. I will never use Martin and Co ever again....
