After being told my full circumstances they are happy to take your money for referencing and then claim the landlord has turned down a payment of six months rent in advance and a guarantor as I am not working due to ill health. The reason given is not my health but the landlord insurance to protect non payment, I offered full payment in advance. Worst real estate agents I have ever dealt with. They are rude, unprofessional and ignore their own legally binding paper work. They should be shut down as they do not do their jobs properly. They messed me around with my rent, refused to give my deposit back 4 months after they had said they would and when I called after 2pm (they refused to deal with me before this time) they told me it was 2:10 and they would call after 2. My friend and I have also had the same experience with Martin & Co and in particular the same member of staff, Prakash Parmar. On the viewing, I was informed that the house was through the post bills for the gas and electric, there was a TV aerial in the master bedroom but one will be put in the second bedroom, certain furniture would be removed from the secondary bedroom (as I had my own furniture from a previous house) and a paint touch up on the walls throughout the house. I am very unhappy with the service I\'ve received from Martin and Co and from their agent Prakash in particular. When viewing the property we were told that the rent was 675 but it turned out to actually be 775. This was still quite low so we decided to accept. We were then told that the house was having repairs done but that these would be finished by the 13th of September. The agent could have simply laid out every cost and delay to us in written form at the very start of the process and that way we woudl have been prepared for all this.

Avoid this agent at all cost! They were agents for our rental property and their service is appalling. They missed 2 gas certificates, which have to legally be done every year. They were unable to work out simple calculations when our tenant fell behind on his rent and in the end I sent them the details of what he owed. Martin & Co Leicester does not normally respond to comments on internet forums. We have a formal written complaints process, and anyone remaining dissatisfied once this is exhausted may take their complaint to the Property Ombudsman (www.tpos.co.uk) who will independently investigate it and offer an opinion which is binding upon us.
