I have been a tenant with Martin and Co Crewe for several years and I can honestly say that they are the worst company it has ever been my misfortune to deal with . No matter the situation they let us down at every turn either through apathy , incompetence or just a general disregard for us their customers . Avoid this company like the plague as they will cause you nothing but trouble and stress for every second of your dealings with them, they are thoroughly incompetent and shockingly unprofess...

Disgusting experience....very bad and poor service. I view property in Crewe and was happy and paid application fees ‚£250. Agent commit they will process our application and there should be no problem. After 3-4 days no any contact from Agent and after calling myself to them they replying ..no we cannot offer this property due landlord find someone...so why you process with us? and afterward...for refund of application fees i need to contact so many times to get back my money...so ridi...

Rubbish was looking for a house to rent found one put some money down to secure the house then got telled someone else was having that house then I was going to view another house got tell the day I was support to see it someone else has got it rubbish not very helpful and poor service will not be using them again...

Extremely incompetent and rude letting agents. They came in my house without my permission and brought people in for viewing. When I called to complain, they were the least bothered and said I could call the police. I have a long term tenancy with them and they couldn't possibly be bringing other tenants to view the house while I am still here let alone not even give me a day's notice! This has to be the worst agency I ever dealt with in my life....

I was due to move into a house with martin & co. only to find the tenants were still living there, therefore making me and my partner homeless. They did however found us a place last minute so we left the matter at that even if they failed to apologize for their mistakes. Being a student I instantly felt discriminated against with requests to pay 6 months rent up front on top of the deposit and large unjustifiable hidden fees (i.e. £85 for admin and £50 to write up a contract) ev...

Terrible Customer Service - No one ever phones back - Phoned and asked for Manager Mark Bowland He never answers calls and never returns calls, always seems to be on phone whenever I'v phoned to complain. I had exactly the same problems. Mark never responded to my questions in e-mails when I had a complaint. I also had a tenant on HB who didn't pay rent on time, or sometimes at all. They have been reported to the Property Ombudsman due to all the problems they caused, and we are just waiting for the outcome. We probably wouldn't have bothered, but after talking to people they all know someone who used them and had problems, so they had taken them to the Ombudsman, and won, and their problems we....

Its was our first year in letting our house , we expected a letting agency to look after & check references etc on any prospective tennants, we ended up with the tennant from hell, she has'nt paid the full rental for 6 months & all martins have done is phone her to say she owes her rent, they never advised us to contact housing benefit office and get payment made directly to us and now her tennancy has ended they seem to do nothing in getting her out. I wish I had seen this before I entered into a letting with Martin and co. I really feel sorry for the owners of the property I am letting. The supposed inventory inspector obviously missed a number of key items. Things like a film of grease across the kitchen faulty broken equipment which was reported as "excellent" one hand does not know why the other does!!! One says the chimney needs swept the other says the fire has a leak. The house is a nice house but like I said I feel sorry....

I have recently moved out of a property with Martin and Co. The house was cleaned top to bottom, hoovered, cleaned the carpet (hiring a cleaning machine) and re painted the kitchen. When I received my check out form, they stated how it wasn't cleaned, the oven door was dirty, the carpets hadn't been hoovered and that a door hinge was broken and the entire door had to be replaced. I feel the same, I was treated babdly even after they colleceted my last month rent and i only stayed for 5day in that month. Their staff are the worse staffs are very rude and do not understand what customer service is at all.....

Absolutely rubbish! I've been in my place for nearly 2 years now and I'm still waiting for things to be sorted. When I moved in I signed a form to say I was happy to have builders in to cap off the chimney in my first week...this still hasn't been done, resulting in black mold in the living room which has already caused me some health problems. I've the same problem with them as a landlord. Promise you the earth until they have your signature, then nothing! Meant to have the full management service, so far not had one written report back on the checks they are contracted to do every quarter, or even verbal report.....

Didn't give proper advice regarding do's and don'ts for renting out as beginners. Moved in tenant with unsuitable guarantor, didn't tell us, or show references, just said she had one. I have to chase them to find out if the rent is in on time, which it never is. Phone calls are a nightmare - never get back with answers in a suitable timescale. E-mails are ignored for 2 or 3 days. I don't get answers to urgent questions. The tenant is a nightmare - for me as a landlord, and for the neighbours ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
Admit their sytem failed, or wan't acted upon correctly. Get the tenant out at their own expence, refund the management fees and get the repairs sorted out of their own pocket, or their liability insurance.
