Failed to fix maintenance issues tried to steal our deposit had to go through TDS as they were claiming 400 of it they got 40 instead bunch of manipulating nasty monkeys in suits. Terrible rude staff throughout should be investigated by watch dog....

Quite possibly the worst agents we have ever been with! Tried to retain deposit for absolutely nothing and were rude, nasty and obstructive during our time trying to have our deposit returned. Returned about a quarter of it after some chasing, and we had to go through the ombudsman in order to have the remainder returned which took over 6 months. How they are still in business is amazing, but put us off renting altogether....

Incompetent, unprofessional, rude, arrogant, useless...etc etc etc I cannot believe that an agent like this is still in business. We had to go to the deposit adjudicator to get our deposit back, and Martin and Co lied through their teeth about the state of the property and said that they had never received our check in report with our notes on it. you have to go via the ombudsman, we had the same problem but they are regulated and the deposits are protected but it took a very long time....

Terrible terrible terrible..... will never ever use them again. greedy agent & greedy landlords. Avoid them at all cost. They send me a bill for 160+vat for general cleaning when The only thing I forgot to clean is the spider-web on the ceiling when I asked for the breakdown of this bill they completely ignored me. I waited almost 2 months for my deposit I complained the rental deposit scheme and opened a dispute. Finally we came to an agreement and got my money back... what a rubbish estate...

Never go for this agent !!!...........misleading agency ........ They dont take any action for emergency maintainace ......very rude behaviour.........inconsistent statement during check in and check out......do not treat the tenant as customer..........100% pro-landlord......dont give proper notice before vacating the property.......totally horrible...most unprofessional agent I ever saw.........

Extremely poor communication and customer service. The staff were all whispering whilst I went into the branch alone to sign my contract making me feel highly uncomfortable and intimidated. They hardly ever reply to my emails. Sarcastic and rude over the phone. They even sent me a letter through the post saying they\'d "spoken to my landlord and they have agreed to lower your rent to £450pcm". I can deinately agree with that. Rude aggresive and sarcastic. I got my keys the same day i had to move in due to their inability to have the contract ready. The house was filthy sticky and smelly. The washing machine was not working, the windows need to bechanged as the rain and the wind is coming through. It said that the house was furnished and then they said it was a mistake-after i signed in . They did not reply to my e-mails either and tey got me a wrong and old leetr box key and they had....

We took a property with Martin n Co and we had nothing but trouble, they originally told us that we should be moved into the property on the 6th of Jan, however we moved in on the 9th and had to pay for hotels for 3 days. Throughout the year , there were poor when communicating with us, and also conned £500 out of our deposit. We have been with Martin & co for 10 months, during this time we still have uncompleted maintenance issues which we flagged up during the first week of move in. It took 6 months for light bulbs (did not work when we moved in) to be changed and a month for our boiler to be fixed in January (it snowed), a week of which we had no hot water. We had a damaged spare toilet and when Martin & Co. arranged a plumber to arrive on Friday afternoon because they said they couldn\'t send a plumber at the weekend. Nottingham branch full of idiots. Refused to fix problems in flat including an open patio door open for over a month, management refuses to discuss issues, aggressive staff. Allow people to enter flat without any notice on at least two occasions. After that try to extort money from my deposit by charging me for issues that were in place when I moved in. They know every dirty trick in the book. Safe yourself time, effort and hassle and stay well away from these cowboys....

We rented for a year through Martin and Co with constant problems. We began with an excellent contract agreement and thought we\'d been really lucky. The promise to put fitted curtains in our flat turned into the biggest ordeal EVER. We ended up waiting over 3 months for the curtains and constantly had to pop into the branch to ask what was going on! You must have broken your tenancy agreement to have paid to leave? Surely it's common sense you can't get your friends to move in and get your deposit back in one go? Did your friends have to wait until you had done an inventory for damages before they could move?! Sounds pretty normal to me?....

It's interesting That Martin and Co see fit to discuss clients- past or present I don't know which - financial and employment status on a public forum...I'm sure that goes somewhere against data protection which they clearly state in their terms and conditions they will only share with the Credit Referencing agency and Landlord...slick move guys. Oddly enough I know Ricky Benwell personally and I'm disappointed in him for stopping so low as to work for this lot.....

They are the stereotype of the letting agencies and they do things in a stringent bureaucratic way, absolutely no flexibility and not in favour of the tenants! They always over-complicate everything every step of the way. When you need to speak to their agency, you have to make sure that you dial the right number, find the specific department and contact the specific person. No one else would bother to speak to you. It seems everyone is in charge of a tiny area of the job a normal estate agent ...

I've had numerous problems with the city head office on Clarendon street, 1st they gave me the wrong key thob to get into the building and took 3days to get it; at which point i was either stuck in or out of the flat for that period of time in a city miles away from home (not a nice feeling at all!)l.
