Avoid at all costs. All staff dealt with at the branch became increasingly rude from the moment I picked up the keys - atrociously so upon vacating the property. During the tenancy we were charged for cleaning and repair services that were never provided (these were sporadic, often of poor standard, and were only supplied after chasing by multiple tenants over a period of weeks in the worst cases). I am a first time buyer with this company and since moving in have had very poor heating and damp in all rooms. They sent people out who said they could put curtains up at the bottom of the stairs to stop draft but never done this. We also waited over a month for a dial to be put on our radiator which was looked at 3 times before doing anything about it. Our shower then broke on Thursday and numerous times i called to sort this and they sent someone out finally, then i had to chase up everything...

STAY AWAY FROM THE ABINGDON BRANCH OF MARTIN AND CO! Martin and co have the most unhelpful, rude and incompetent bunch of staff I have ever known! I would like to point out a few facts about the way they treated myself and my partner while we were tenants; we were left with no heating or hot water for 10 days, after a week someone came and dumped two fan heaters to our flat (one was faulty too) he came to the door with no apologies. This person was so rude to our staff and expected a repair to be carried out on thier heating in a time scale that was not possible due to parts need ordering. We have had feedback that our plumbing company was not carrying out repairs as quickly & efficiently as they could so we have stopped using them and have found a company that can respond more quickly. When we moved out of the house they tried to take almost all of our £1800 deposit, and tried to make us feel like we were in the wrong. The crux of it was a tiny dent on the floor about 2mm in width, they they informed us they were charging £981 for to replace the entire floor. They lied to us the whole way through, tried to convince me not to appeal the deposit deduction, then when I did appeal it, they kept saying they were happy to go through arbitration, and in the meantime would...

This tenant damaged a landlords property and did not want to accept responsibility for it. We always treat both parties tenant and landlord fairly, and had we not challenged this tenant over the damage we would have had an unhappy landlord rightfully saying we had not done our job right in charging the tenant for his damage. It's easy for tenants to blame agents when they can't accept the evidence is showing the tenant has caused property damage.....

Having tried a number of letting agents in Abingdon, we are very impressed with Martins and Co. They are efficient, cost effective and most importantly have maintained excellent communication. They are effecient in administration of the contract and liaise with the tenants well....

Agent lied about valid gas safety certificate. Was told there was one, but upon inspection it was found to be incomplete, and therefore not valid. When approached about this the agents pleaded ignorance... sorry, but it is your legal obligation to ensure these things are CORRECT. Landlords manage the property... absolute liars... no care whatsoever for the tenants. Winter 2010/11 saw temperatures of -16c... heating was broken... took TWO WEEKS to get someone to fix it. This tenant had all the facts incorrect, the property did have a gas certificate fully compliant with the law, but there were recommendations for works to be carried out, nothing dangerous or illegal, just recommendations. We also did not manage the property, the landlord did so we had no authority to carry out any works on the appliances on thier behalf. The landlord had the works done as necessary, and we must point out we have had many very happy tenants living in the self contained rooms of ....
