John Caine is the most arrogant, rude person I have had to speak to. Maintenance work never done, people entering the property without giving notice (and giving this is the law!), on inspection people going through your private belongings, totally unacceptable on complaining about this, they did not deal with it in the appropriate way. The team as a whole are VERY unprofessional....

What agent could do to change your mind?
First thing would be to listen to your customers irregardless of why they aer contacting you. DO NOT, not raise voice and become aggressive. Remember that the person calling is a customer and show some respect, BE professional,

Just stumbled upon this site and can't believe that other people have had exactly the same unbelievably bad experience with these people as we have. My partner and I had many ongoing problems with these agents, none of which were ever satisfactorily resolved. The arrogance and unhelpfulness of staff members that have already been named was just unbelievable. I used Jonathan Rees as the agent to find me a tenant for my property that i let out. Within the week i had 6 lots of tenants on a list who wanted to have a look. Everything was completed in a month and to say the least i am delighted that i was able to trust both John Caine and indeed Debbie Darvile to sort it all out for me. I recomend that you use Jonathan Rees....

interesting that the only good report for this agent is made at the same time & date that Jonathan Rees themselves reply poorly to yet another bad report ...........

Dreadful experience. The lettings manager is the most arrogant, unhelpful, sexist jobsworth I've met in a long time. At the start of the tenancy they tried to tell me that buying contents insurance through them was a condition of the tenancy agreement. It's not and it's illegal to tie insurance to a tenancy agreement. They just wanted more commission. I've come into some money and am about to become a buy-to-let landlord. Absolutely unashamedly terrible. Jonathan Caine - thinks he can talk himself out of any problem - he can't. Debbie Darvil - worst employee I have ever come across in any business, from Lidl to Harrods. We never got anything fixed in our property that was literally falling apart. everal times we journeyed in to see them, Mr Caine would often look up from his desk and look visibly bothered someone was disturbing him from his sudoku. As Marc well knows the landlord would not allow us to spend any money. Without the landlords consent we were unable to get repairs done to the property. The deposit deductions were requested by the landlord despite our advice to the contrary. No deductions were made. The tenants had a bad experience but not of our making. We do not act for these landlords now and would not do so again. Jonathan Rees....

One of their staff members is the rudest, most arrogant person I have ever met. I've never met such a nasty piece of work. And I'm a customer!!! A customer who's paid on time every single month. Steer well clear if you possibly can. Unless they get rid of that person....

Thanks for your honest review. A friend of mine has gone through a hugely upsetting experience with them (different person than the one you mention too so it's not just the one), they seem to think they can treat tenants any which way and they are protected. Sadly they are probably right. They are shameless, and do not care how much distress they cause to honest people, I do hope they get served a little of their own medicine soon and realise that you just cannot treat people that way.....
