I would give 0 stars if possible. I genuinely don't know what this company offers the people who, like myself, are somehow bound to pay their (increasing) monthly management fee despite owning the property freehold, yet there is absolutely nothing they do for me. I completely agree. We have had a terrible service from John Mortimer's to date with lots of evidence of their poor service thanks to their emails and inability to return phone calls. We are writing a complaint and would not recommend anyone use them. I am a Director for our block given that they were ripping us off constantly, someone had to watch them. Fortunately, another Owner has also become Director and despite initially thinking they couldn't be as bad as I told her, now is beyond frustra....

I strongly advise to not enlist John Mortimer to manage your property. The service is appalling and communication in particular is shocking. They do not reply to emails or deal with matters in a reasonable or fair manner. I have had water leaks for over 6 years which have still not been dealt with. Disgusting service! Avoid at all costs....

On our estate, Friars Mead in Addlestone there are several home owners at our wits end with John Mortimer. They charge us for gardening services that they do not deliver, in fact they actually cost us more in garden maintenance because several of us have had to go and buy gardening tools to clear up messes they have made. The reviewer's experience actually mirrors my experience of John Mortimer Estates over the last year. Looking at your rating on here and reviews on other sites, it's a relatively common theme, especially for residents of Friars Mead. So maybe instead of petulantly accusing people of lying, tackle the problem like a reasonable business should...with some sort of tact.....

Earlier this week the contractors attended the badger run, and this morning we had a sign erected at the turn around. It was very well sited and has already made a difference to the traffic problems we had by prohibiting the parking in this area. I have also to thank the staff for all their positive actions which has stood out in comparison to previous management companies. I would like to thank the staff at John Mortimer's for their help in completing the task of the cavity wall insulation. A special thanks to Steve for his liaison with the tenants in arranging the internal redecorations and access to the balconies through the flats. Some of the tenants who are renting were not that helpful in allowing access, but Steve convinced then which made the decorator's job a lot easier and saved the block money in the service charges....

I would like to thank Denise for resolving the long standing issue of the television reception. There has been a problem with the signal which in part was due to the old cable and the need for some new equipment. The picture is so much better! I would like to thank Kim for his work in resolving outstanding issues left over from the previous managing agents. In particular the removal of the asbestos which was supposed to have been done on inspection was not completed although a certificate had been given. Kim was very good in negotiating a settlement as well as finishing the work, so that further repairs and improvements could be done after the asbestos removal. Frankly without Kim and his team, I don't know what we would have done....

Sat on their hands for 21 years, as 3 flats 65a paid no service charge (world record ?) Lacked experience to renovate the fascade, cars parked on the pavements. Its so easy to make these comments and not even sign your nae to it. This person, whom I can guess wrote this, has distorted the facts completerly. This was a hearing with the management company run by the owners and the case was won by the owners. Its simply a case that 65a has a lease issued by the local authoirty and was outside the management of the rest of the development.The interpretation of the lease and what if any contributions they would make to the service charges had to be derterm....

If John had bothered to read my post he would know that there are no arrears due and so his claim of my owing money is false and untrue. I agree with the surveyors report, problem was condensation. Condensation was caused by 3 leaks in the roof which was because John Mortimer neglected to maintain and repair the roof correctly over many years. John Mortimer fixed the 3 leaks which is admitting liability. Now they are trying to negate liability even though they have already made repairs and the evidence is starring them in the face. I echo most of the negative comments re estate mgt left here. They manage my block of flats and have hardly done anything to repair things- there are loose tiles, lights not working plus they charge for window cleaning but I have never even seen them clean them. They take a nice hefty fee for the privilege. To top things off I received a bill for £1.3k for roof repairs due in 28 days- hmmm that seems fair- most people can pay that off in a month sure! from day one the agent could have done everything better and tried to help their tennants. Maybe start to clean properties before allowing a tennant to move in, Better communication and telephone manners, have more than one member of staff trained to deal with certain things, be fair during checks and not have a one mind approach. respect all customers.

I\'ve used John Mortimer for just under two years now to fully manage a property of mine. I have found them to do a great job. They have found good tenants quickly and their ongoing management is good with maintenance issues dealt with promptly. They have been very responsive and are equally happy communicating over email or the phone. My tenants also seem to be very happy with them. This particular block is built on a very exposed hill with terraced balconies. The problem here is that the leak was under the floor tiles of the balcony and part of the demised property of this persons neighbour, who did not want to take responsibility for the leak and the costs. The manager at the time visited the site on many occasions with surveyor and contractors to obtain the best solution at the best price to assist the flat owner who was not prepared to accept liability.
