Good service in general. Nelson especially was very accommodating in waiving extra fees in regards to our quick move, and Sharmila kindly stayed behind until after 7 so that we could meet with our landlord after work. Would give them both 5 stars as individuals. The loss of one star has to do with the agency fees...

Only reason I do not give 5 stars is because the agency fee amounted to a whopping £500 pounds, though this shouldn't worry future tenants as, according to the Chancellor's last statement, the fees will become outlawed in January 2017. I was also asked to pay roughly the equivalent of 10 month's rent because I have only been working at my job for 2 months and have not passed my probation period.

Thank you for your comments, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed when you had to pay rent in advance. We do make clear on our tenant information sheet that is given to all applicants prior to deposits being paid and references stating that if you are employed for less than 12 months this may affect the references. As you were still in your probation period the references passed subject to rent being paid in advance....

We had a problem with the heating in that some of the radiators didn't work very well. It took less than 2 days from raising the concern to having a team of two showing up and sorting it all out. We were kept informed throughout, we were given the name of the person that was dealing with our case straight away. He called early in the morning, visited the flat that same day, and did an excellent job in resolving our problem in the shortest possible time...

We found some bad news about our property from Laura regarding the need for some significant building works earlier this year from Laura after an agreed survey and the weeks have recently been completed having been coordinated by Laura Lindsay. These kind of works can be very stressful on all concerned and I cannot praise Laura highly enough for being the person in the middle of Tenant, builder and landlord and she has managed to coordinate all the 3 months of works and to be the go too person ...

I came to goodfellows after a bad experience with another agency. I first spoke with Denisha over the phone and found her to be very helpful and clear outlining the process. Marion was friendly and helpful. She responded quickly to my emails and was very supportive when I ran into problems in getting part of my deposit back. The situation was resolved fairly. I trusted her to help me with renting the property and the whole experience was a positive one. The property has had several issues and the landlady lives abroad. Yet every time we had cause to speak to Tilly, who was the main point of contact, she was professional and extremely efficient. She ensured that matters did not stagnate and would book contractors often at short notice, resolving issues quickly. She is a credit to the firm she works for and made our renting experience straightforward....

I am the epitome of a reluctant landlord in that it happened by accident rather than as a conscious, financial decision/investment opportunity. Time keeping is poor, they were late for our viewing and for the key collection. The day we collected the keys was a little unorganised in regards to paperwork etc. However, they are always polite, knowledgeable and smartly dressed....

Complaints Procedure

All complaints are recorded at the time they are made and must be made to the member of the staff concerned.
If the complaint cannot be satisfied at this point the complaint should be made in writing to the Branch Manager or Director, a list can be made available by contacting the Company PA, Tracey-Anne Green by email: tracey-anne.green@goodfellows.co.uk or by telephone to 01372 738173 or in writing to the address stated below;
Tracey-Anne Green, c/o Goodfellows Estate Agents Limited, 10, The Axis Centre, Cleeve Road, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 7RD.
All written complaints will be acknowledged in writing either by postal letter or email within 3 working days and a proper investigation promptly undertaken.
A formal written outcome of this investigation will be sent to the Complainant within 15 working days.
If the complainant remains dissatisfied they can then pursue the complaint via the Managing Director, Mr Christopher Lines email: Christopher.lines@goodfellows.co.uk รขย€ย“ at the same address as above. This should provide the opportunity for a speedy, separate and detached review of the complaint by someone not directly involved in the transaction. Such a review will be sent to the Complainant within 15 working days.
Following the conclusion of the investigation a written statement expressing final views and including any offer made will be sent to the complainant. This will also explain how the matter can be referred to the Ombudsman, pointing out that any such referral must be made within 6 months.
If we do not hear from you further following our findings having been communicated either via email or by letter within a 28 day period, we will consider the complaint closed.
Please be aware that a complaint cannot be sent direct to the Ombudsman without first following the internal complaints procedure.
