I was offered a local authority home but had been locked into a 12 month tenancy. I went back to Goadsby as the landlord used the originally as a tenant find. I approached them after seeking the landlord permission to re advertise the property. The fees charged where expensive but I paid them to enable the landlord to find a new tenant. The property was not managed by goadsby nor where they involved in the deposit scheme. I discovered that on one occasion a letting staff member entered the prope...

There are many reasons to stay away from Goadsby, but I will start with the most troubling: My housemate was repeatedly told that she had not paid her rent for that month. She explained that she had paid but still the calls, which verged on threatening, persisted. She was being ordered to cough up money that she had ALREADY paid. On the day her dissertation was due, she was further bombarded with the accusations and had to make a rushed trip into town to collect the receipt from Royal Bank of...

What agent could do to change your mind?
I don\'t even know where to begin. There is absolutely nothing that Goadsby will do to help you. You will be left severely out of pocket.

Think carefully about the letting agent you use, if you have the choice as a Tenant. Goadsby made it clear from the outset that they act for the landlord but was not until well into the process of drawing up an agreement that I would realize how difficult this statement would make it for me, the Tenant. In the end Goadsby just steam rolled forward not addressing my questions, concerns or getting the most basic aspects of what was agreed with the landlord included in the agreement. E.g. they si...

The agent needs to balance the needs of the Tenant and the Landlord. It takes 2 to reach an agreement.

Quite possibly one of the worst estate agents I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They seem to be completly inept at doing anything and their communication is lousy verging on rude and offensive. They refused to relay our offer to the vendor as in their words it wasn\'t 5% less than the asking price! I explained that in a recession with a first time buyer who is no forward chain and a large part cash purchase that the asking price is only an asking price and the sale prices in the a...

What agent could do to change your mind?
Actually taking a buyer in a good position seriously. Actually relaying offers made on a property to the vendor Price houses according to what other agents and sold prices indicate for the area Avoid being blunt to customers and be open and approachable Just because you are an Estate Agent doesn\'t mean you can treat others like scum!

Not even worth the one star if you ask me! I was a current tenant with them in a student property, and they are the slowest, rudest people in the world! It took them over 6-9 months to fix the ariel in our house, over 3 months to fix the flooring in our utility room and everything else was going wrong from there! I thought to learn from my mistakes and never rent from them again, but I have. I am currently waiting to move into a house provided by them, but have been told that I may have to wait ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
Be more professional, doing their job instead of blaming others for their mistakes, or blaming the tenants instead of themselves. Telling us all the information we need to know at the beginning so no trouble like this would accrue so near to moving in dates! There is so much that they have no way of improving.

Avoid. Extremely unprofessional and unfair. We had an offer accepted and a move in date agreed to later have an old offer "resurface" and lose the property from under us. This should not be allowed to happen. Once the landlord has accepted and is happy with an offer no further offers should come to his attention. I am extremely disgusted and appalled at the ethos and attitude of this agent. Use at your peril....

Completely agree with the description unprofessional and unfair. Started to explain the reasons I am so disappointed as a buyer but can't be bothered now. Too long winded and unbelievable. Just avoid like the plague....
