Appalling company to deal with. Over the past ten years I have had dealings with 8 lettings agencies and Gatekeepers were by far the worst. They were incompetent, dishonest and greedy. I would advise anyone reading this to avoid them.......

I was a land lord, gatekeeper are the most shambolic and money grabbing firm I have ever encountered. 1. Their business model: charge low standing fee, then charge a grotesque about for every job they do. I agreed to let a flat from Gatekeepers just over six months ago. When we went to see the flat it was in an awful condition with black mould on all 4 bedroom walls as well as on the ceiling. Potential tenants beware. Read your contract thoroughly, and consider how their terms will affect you in the long term. The staff are incredibly friendly and will say all you want to hear. Renewal time is interesting with Gatekeeper. Fees are extortionate at every renewal, and the time limits put upon you to make your decision to renew or decline a new contract are unfair. Oh where do I start?! This company finds as many ways as it can to get money out of you from using an 0871 phone number and refusing to give any other number, (I asked for one and was told they don\'t have one and that the staff don\'t even have mobiles. I finally moved out because I couldn't stand the agency any longer (even though I didn't want to move, I liked the flat and moving set me back healthwise - well done Gatekeeper!) and they tried to withhold part of my deposit for 'cleaning' and 'damage'. I sent a video to the DPS which clearly showed there was no damage and no cleaning to be done. In fact, the flat was cleaner when I moved out than it was when I moved in. I had the same problem with them. The flat was cleaner when I left than it was when I moved in and then they had the cheek to try to steal part of my deposit for 'cleaning' and 'damage'. I challenged it and the DPS found in my favour and gave me every single penny back. The so-called inventory also didn't match the flat and it's contents so that had to be amended. Since Gatekeeper took over my property I have been really impressed with the service and dedication from Michael and the property care team. Everything from moving our new tenants in, to sorting out any last minute details has gone so smoothly and I have been kept informed of everything that is going on. The staff from Gatekeeper kept in contact with me and the tenants and managed, even through the Christmas period, to sort everything out and keep all parties happy. The move in and move out went smoothly, all the paper work arrived promptly and everything was handled professionally. The amount of detail that Gatekeeper provided was superb and there was nothing left to chance. A very good service was provided and I will not hesitate to use them again...

I have had maybe the worst experience of my life when dealing with this company. From the compulsory insurance to the £90 renewal fee (which is hidden away on the tenancy agreement) to the £120 end of contract charge. I have found dealing with this company to be an excercise in stress and frustration. They have taken over a month on two occasions to fix issues- one of them being hot water. After my buyer pulled out I decided to rent my flat. Gatekeeper found me a tenant within a week and they were moved in a week after this. If only buying and selling was this easy! They responded to my calls and emails quickly which is always appreciated. I would be happy to recommend them...

Mat at Gatekeeper asked me to leave feed back on this site as a result of some dubious negative feedback and I was more than willing to help. I think they are including it as part of the customer surveys that they send to all clients every 3 months or so. I can only say that they are 1st class and offer me great service. I hope Gatekeeper are also including the earlier reviews on this site in their customer surveys?? I don't think people would really go to the trouble of writing 'dubious' reviews, if they were satisfied they just wouldn't bother writing anything. This branch doesn't actually exist, it is a drop off / pick up point for keys, using another company's reception desk. The service is abysmal, we used their "managed service" and know for a fact that they never visited our property during the twelve months it was let through them, as we had to change the locks and they had no key!
