Total professional with all dealings. Foxtons staff are all excellent (Stratford). In particularly Josh Magume. Foxtons really came through for me. They got me a buyer really quickly and lined up viewings right from day one. Then, the day before exchange the buyer dropped out. I faced not being able to buy my dream home with my fiancee. It was one of the lowest moments of my life.
Foxtons got to work immediately - in the space of three days they had produced more viewings than even the first time the flat was on the market. They got me another buyer quickly enough the person selling me my new house never even batted an eyelid.
Exchange was today, so we've done it and now I and my fiancee can start our new lives together. Foxtons really worked doubly hard on this one and they got it done. Very pleased they were on my side.

The staff, perhaps not all but the agent I had particularly was very sneaky with details. First of all the move in date was incorrect and would not allow us to change as that is the date we 'agreed'. This is not true we just had made an offer on that day. The rent was then due to be paid on that date every month, they asked me to set the direct debit date 3 days prior as it takes a few days 'for the money to change over'. I asked wojld the money leave my account 3 days before, I was told no. This is not true. Every other property I have lived in I was no asked to pay 3 days early. The agency are terrible at sorting problems and after moving in actually heard from the agent who seemed very helpful once. She does not respond to any emails or calls anymore. I understand it's a business but if they want return customers it isn't going to happen this way. It's as though they want your money and then that's it they don't want to hear anymore.

I think that the fees are a little bit expensive and that Foxtons should offer deals for landlords who do repeat letting and have more than 1 property let by Foxtons.

I initially contacted Foxtons with regard to a one bedroom flat I was interested which was about 10 minutes' walk from Leyton station. I was shown this flat, for which the asking price was £230,000, but informed that there was already a lot of interest, and that offers had already come in over the asking price. On the same day I was shown another one bedroom flat in Forest Gate. It was further out than we were hoping for, and more expensive at £250,000, but the agent gave us the hard sale (up and coming area, original Victorian features, cross rail coming in four years' time etc.), and was a little more spacy than the flat in Leyton with a garden and kitchen diner as well as a separate reception room. After months of disappointment in our property search I was impressed with Foxtons' seeming efficiency we decided to plunge for the Forest Gate flat believing that at least this time we'd have a hope of success if we offered the full asking price. We offered the full £250,000, only to then be told that the flat had been revalued and was now £265,000. After much deliberation, and perhaps rather naively we offered £265,000, London's in a bubble after all, and by now we really had our heart set on the place. A few days after putting in our offer we were informed that we had been unsuccessful as a cash buyer had come in at the same offer. Two weeks later we were informed that the cash buyer had pulled out. In hindsight this really should have sent alarm bells ringing, but being rather too optimistic we decided it might be fate and re-offered our £265,000 offer. The offer was accepted and we swiftly got our solicitor on board and booked a homebuyer's report survey. Two weeks later we received the survey which valued the property at £230,000 – £35,000 less than what we had offered. The survey had also picked up on multiple problems with the property (faulty electrical system, bathroom and kitchen fittings needing replacing, rotting window frames, movement in building indicated by a large crack on one of the outside walls). We also found out that there were only 60 years left on the lease (we had been originally told by the agent that there were 999 years left on the lease, which must have been a complete lie). After showing Foxtons the homebuyer's report and attempting the renegotiate the price down to £230,000 we were informed that the seller was unwilling. Foxtons did try to encourage us to go with another bank and get another survey done, but we had already spent £1,250 in surveying and legal fees and thought better of their ‘advice'. Out of interest I asked whether the sale for the flat in Leyton had gone through and was informed that it had. A few days later I noticed that the Leyton flat had been relisted on Rightmove, and am in no doubt that exactly the same thing must have happened with this flat. To summarise Foxtons outright lie and massively overvalue their properties at the expense of potential buyers who are impressed with their apparent professionalism and naively pay hundreds of pounds for surveys, conveyancing costs and mortgage set-up fees, only to find that the banks will not lend on such overpriced properties. This has been a costly lesson for us to learn, and after doing some research I find that this is a very common scenario for people who have tried to buy through Foxtons. I urge people not to use Foxtons unless you are a cash buyer so don't require a successful valuation and are willing to pay over the odds.

When I was searching for a flat they were the only agency who returned my calls promptly, offered to drive me to viewings, and engaged my trust.
When buying the flat that I eventually found, Natalie was supportive, always returned my calls, kept me updated all the way along and advised me when I asked.
This is a seller's market it seems, but Foxtons treated me like a client. They never made me feel like they were doing me a favour just by meeting me, like the other agents did.

WE decided to sell our property and contacted several agents.
Charlotte came to do a valuation and gave us a very high valuation (common practise with foxtons).
I received several texts regarding viewings but most of the time no body turned up.
I never received any feedback from them...only when I gave them my notice to terminate the contract that
Charlotte told me that we had an offer,
we agreed on a price and even received an email confirming that she will speak to the potential buyer's sollicitor and give a feedback (never got one).
After pushing I finally got an answer that the buyer pulled out.....
TBH i doubt there was an actual party interested.
Anyway, i send an email to Charlotte to tell her how dissapointed we were but so far no reply.
Thank god my contract ends in Feb.
Personal advise- do not go for the agency that gives the highest valuation!!
