My husband and I just bought our first flat and were very pleased with Foxtons's service. We were impressed by Chris Manderson's high level of efficiency. He helped us throughout the process by answering our questions (quite a few!) and chasing solicitors, etc. Even though there were delays in the operation, we felt that Chris worked extra hard to make us feel supported and to keep things moving. The service he provided was outstanding so I thought it was important to bring it to the manager's attention and the public.

Comments on Agent Fees
Thankfully it hasn\'t gone this far, I wouldn\'t have wanted to pay this agent anything! I fail to see how and why, based on the lack of customer service I was provided with, they charge the fees they do. We did more leg work (literally) than agent did!

Bitterly dissapointed with customer service at this branch. Firstly, when I asked agent about the property, she couldn't answer any questions, because she hadn't visited the place. I don't know if this is common place, but I was shocked she couldn't answer basic questions, like is it above a commercial property? If you are going to show prospective tenants around, you need to be able to answer their questions!! When we arrived at the branch for the viewing, we were kept waiting 15minutes before walking down to the flat. When we got there, no one was in the flat (it was above a shop afterall), so agent had to run back to office to get keys, why didn't she bring them with her?? So we stood outside another building for another 20minutes. Agent returned without keys, someone else has them and hadn't returned them. I was so annoyed. What was the point of this charade?! It was so unprofessional and she clearly did not care less. She told me about another viewing she had booked for me, without checking my availability, when I said I couldn't make it, I was working, she said the landlord won't be very happy with me for being messed about, I was absolutely stunned she had the nerve to say this to me!! My response was well you should have asked me when I was free to see it, rather than just assuming I would be free at 5pm on a weekday afternoon!! She was rude and just looked at me as if I was from another planet. We then asked (believe it or not) if we could rearrange this viewing. She told me she would email me immediately with a list of free times, and some similar properties in the area. This was on Tuesday 5th Aug, I've still not heard from her, and I certainly won't be chasing them. They charge around £500 for admin fees. Not at any point during my dealings with Foxtons, Hackney Mare St, have I felt that they would have deserved this fee. They were disorganised, rude, and late. I wander how they would have felt if I was late with payments??
Customer service goes a long way. I wouldn't ever chose to use this estate agents again!

My recent experience of selling using Foxtons was positive from the start. During the initial meeting with Alastair Cochrane, my partner and I were advised about the suggested value and agreed a price we were happy with. Alastair was exceptionally professional, reliable and had an understanding of us as clients. With the most comprehensive property website I have seen, the house was also marketed with a bespoke brochure. Their photography gives you a real sense of the property. Alastair unsurprisingly, was promoted to head up a different branch. Chris Manderson took over our file and was on hand, (even on his days off!) to keep us updated on the progress and reassure us about the next stages. The viewings were smoothly handled by Foxtons securing an offer we accepted and a successful completion last week.
