I decided to opt for Ellis having considered two other agents who gave me different valuations. What made my mind up was the positivity and optimism right from the outset from the Ellis reps, who immediately recognised the potential in the property and what buyers were looking to do. It wasnt so much flannel but actually seeing the potential, the location etc from my perspective. For me having that validation was incredibly important and reassuring. Throughout and what in the end turned out to be a protracted marketing of the property not helped by Brexit and Covid, I found the service provided by the Ellis team, Howard, Raj and Rakesh to be excellent, genuine and very supportive. Throughout they kept me fully updated on offers, and offered advice without ever being pushy regarding pricing strategy. They continued to review how the property was marketed, fresh pictures, a range of online channels and even suggested alternative sales options, such as the auction route. In the end we persisted...the final price though not reflecting my ideal did nonetheless reflect the challenges of the market, and cost of upgrading the house for any future buyer...so a realistic outcome.

We had a house rented from Ellis and co and they did everything possible to stop our deposit even if we gave back the property in a much better condition than when it was given to us .I wouldn't recommend this agency to tenants from East Europe unless they really want to lose their deposit or... Max Heath was extremely polite and in hindsight, we wish we had continued to use him. We insisted on using someone with more experience, as we had previously been let down by another local agent. Keith Comely was unprofessional and rude from the very start. He lost the keys to the property, which he then had the audacity to blame me for. I had driven over 70 miles to re-view it once under offer. He told me 5 mins before he was due to meet me at the property that my asbestos surveyor, who had surveyed the property a full week earlier, had not returned the keys .... he'd only just realised! He then went on the internet and accused me of using a dodgy company ... copy and pasting a bad review via email. He said he would report the lost keys to police as my surveyor was ignoring him (he did me too, but that's another story!) After I completed on the property, I called to ask if the lost keys had been reported and was told by Max that the locks had been changed. Keith hadn't even bothered to let me know. Keith knew how stressful the situation was, but made no attempt to make it less so. When the property is remarketed, Ellis & Co are the last agents I would use.

Since Natalie left, Ellis and Co have gone downhill. The service I have received since she left has been appauling especially by David Benson who is incapable of resolving any of my issues. David Benson can not be trusted with sending out correct invoices - All Landlords out there be AWARE!. I should have been paying 5% commission as agreed in writing but he overcharged me by an extra 3%. When I tried to resolve this is was extremely unprofessional and ended up putting the phone down on me. David Benson is a grotty vile little liar can't be trusted at all. I will never ever use or recommend Ellis and Co in Stanmore to anybody.
Natalie was the only honest and decent member of staff working there and good luck to her for leaving.

We decided to use Ellis and co due to a visit from Natalie...she was 1st class and in constant contact,,,,,,all was great..UNTIL she left for pastures new....It went completley down hill from there,from regularly leaving the property open,no contact,mis leading imfromation,i could go on but it was basicaly a terrible experience from then on...i would certainly not recomend them,and just wish Natalie all the best in her new career.those involved made a stressfull and emotional time for my family even more so..and by the way,after all that time,they still never managed to sell the house,even after WE suggested a price drop...

We have been renting the property for over 5 years now from Ellis & Co. Stanmore. David has always been responsive to queries and had them resolved very quickly. Him and the team at the branch are very friendly and do understand that even though the place we rent is not ours, it is our home. Their approach to situations is systematic yet polite. Not only would I recommend them to tenants but also to new landlords, cos if they can keep a tenant happy you'd bet they can keep a landlord very happy!

We have been searching for a property to rent for months and have dealt with agents from many different companies. There have been situations where agents never returned our call, or booked us for a viewing but didn't turn up (!), or kept pushing properties to us that were beyond our budget.
We finally managed to acquire one with the help of Tommy from the Stanmore branch of Ellis.This being the first time we have rented a property in the UK, he has been very helpful and patient with our million-and-one questions, he did not rush us about with the viewings, he was very prompt with replying our emails, and we could reach him even in the evenings and over the weekend. We are more than satisfied with the level of professionalism and efficiency that Tommy has provided.
