GREAT AGENT, GREAT EXPERIENCE - Michael Varilone and Andrew Shaw were both very lovely people to deal with, gave me honest and weekly feedback with regards to viewings which took place - I would definitely say their fees are justifiable as they were able to let the property within a week of taking it off the market with the first agent I used and coming on solely with them. I wish I could put 0 stars. Most inefficient, inconsistent, s* unreliable, useless, lazy estate agent*. They have no idea about how to rent a house and the only thing they were good at was chasing us every month to ask for money when we had already paid the whole year rent upfront. They were not able to do a proper check in as the person entitled to do it was in a rush so he couldn't stay too long. I will never ever even look to the Dexters brand after the bad experience I have had with them. If you want to be messed around, and to have your time wasted, then this brand will recieve the full five stars. If I am meeting your offer, and giving my card details - I expect you to take my deposit, as agreed, and take me seriously. I met all their requirements, but managed to get screwed over by them somehow allowing a second person to get referenced at the same time as me. Absolutely disgraceful...

Comment on agent fees
They do not seem to have a structure when it comes to fees. Do not assume that just because you've signed a paper or given your card details, that any fees or deposites will be taken. They don't. Not to be trusted.

If I could give Dexters minus stars I would. The team, specifically Alex Cook, Kamil, Jonathan Hill are obnoxious, aggressive and unprofessional. We rented a house from Dexters in 2012 when we were due to have newborn twins. At the end of our rental year we moved out as agreed. 7 weeks before that, Dexters started viewings on the house. This review goes for all Dexters to be honest, but mainly the chiswick branch. I find that with the likes of Dexters, Foxtons, Haart and so on the running theme is dishonesty and a total lack of people skills. It's as if they literally discard their humanity while at work and choose to act like savages. I dealt with Michael at Dexters when I was looking for agents to rent my property through. What I liked was that he was honest, and straight talking and actually gave me lots of valuable advice about the market and how things work....

TL;DR won't listen to you, promise you a lot and consistently fail to deliver anything, fail to respect simple rules of visiting the house despite numerous requests. I have to agree with you here. I'm trying Dexters for the second time (although I'm not holding out high hopes, and I have several back up plans in case things should hit the fan) and Tom Mclarnon was an absolute NIGHTMARE to deal with when letting the property I am moving out of now. Tom organised the creation of a listing for our property, met prospective clients at the property for viewings and closed the deal/created the contract (before handing over to a property management agent under our instruction). Tom was professional, kept to appointments and schedules, and kept us informed at all times of progress, meetings. From the beginning to end absolutely terrible. The lease contract\'s standard clauses cannot be changed even the landlord and the tenant agree. I was not aware of this at the time when I put the deposit time as I would have then asked for the contract and my offer would be subject to the changes being accepted. It is always nerve wreaking taking a property off the market. But Tom and Micheal did everything they could to make this a smooth transition. I spent about 2 months looking for a place and had been to many agents and seen many properties. I saw Dexters twice towards the end of my search and tether and found both their properties and their attitude a welcome delight. In general same comments as everyone here: everything starts professional and then once we signed we were at various stages "blackmailed" by Dexters team e.g.: "If you don\'t sign for this amount you will loose your money" or "If you don\'t present your paperwork by this date we will put the property back in the market" etc. They requested and outrageous amount of personal information, I am sure the data commissioner were to look into this it would be a straight...

We approched Dexters for rental properties in Chiswick, they were ever so kind to show us a few, we saw one we liked. After being told by the agent that we could have this flat unfurnished, we put down a holding deposit that same day.
