I appointed Dexters Highgate office to rent my property. They let it at the first viewing. Throughout the tenancy I found their staff attentive and courteous. The lettings manager Gareth Parry was always professional and forthright in our exchanges, in the few instances when there were accounting errors or discrepancies in the rent forwarded to me he took them in hand personally and rectified them in the shortest possible time. That there is a company ethic focussed on delivering customer service is very evident and palpable, my interactions with their other offices have been of the same standard

Dexters Muswell Hill are disorganised and unethical. They fluffed up my move by not preparing the contract with the owners signature in time for my booked move. I had to run around dealing with new people to try and sort it out on the am of my move. I let it slide as these things happen at the start of a new year.
Then they charged me a deposit after we agreed no deposit was needed - ie: zero deposit scheme. I also got conned into taking up deposit insurance to get the contract through their vetting process. To date i have been unable to cancel it or claim my insurance. Dexters deny all knowledge of the service or say its outsourced.
Finally, my deposit is now being withheld well beyond the legal limit with no justification. After giving two months notice and utilising the break clause, I ended up moving out a day before my tenancy ended in mid July. It's now almost mid September and i have still not been given my deposit back.
George, Head of lettings stopped replying to my follow up mails and tried to tell the landlord that he had refunded me> She tells me she has given approval to refund it. I then got a mail from someone called Kiran who asked for my bank details and for me to approve a 125 pound deduction for professional cleaning. I answered and had to follow up again to get any reply.
Today is 38 days after they were required to pay my deposit back and i still don't have it. Disgusted.
