We have just moved in to our 'fully furnished' flat which we are renting through Dj Alexander. We were very disappointed when we moved in to find that the flat was not fully furnished at all, there is no wardrope or place to store clothes at all in one of the bedrooms, just a bed and a bedside locker. Never been treated as badly as by this agency in over 10 years renting properties in Scotland. David Waddell, Maintenance Dept helped me resolve a problem with the Insurance Co on my rented flat. David contacted said company and continued to monitor the changing circumstances over many months (protracted negotiations being due to Insurance Co dragging its heels). If there was an option to select 0 starts, I would have chosen that! After an enthusiastic sales process, the minute I agreed to sign up with DJ Alexander, the problems started. And have been on-going and consistent for almost 4 years. Since moving into the property we have had a multitude of problems. Issues that could be resolved with the right professional easily ie plumber, joiner, electrician but there is so much procrastinating and "fobbing off" by all members of staff that I have come across so far that the service nothing short of shambolic. It's been two weeks without a working washing machine and it looks set to be even longer. The problem had to be reported twice before they acted and rarely when they say they will call you back do they actually follow through. Dear Steve, We are sorry that your washing machine took so long to repair. Frustratingly the part took much longer to arrive than expected which we appreciate has been most inconvenient. Some of this delay was due to the supplier and the engineer not working at weekends which meant loosing additional days. What agent could do to change your mind?
Dealt with our various problems as they arose instead of dragging them on for months on end. Arrived with at least the latest updated inventory (although this still wasn\'t correct) instead of the original one. Not felt it necessary to charge for painting an entire room over a few tiny marks, especially given the absolutely horrendous experience we\'d had throughout the tenancy.

We weren\'t even told about fees before we paid our deposit, then all of a sudden there was a β€š£35 charge for a credit search which can be done for β€š£2.

They did the same to us. They sent the inventory 2 weeks after we moved in. With our furniture in place we could not check the inventory. When we complained the person who did the inventory said that it was very difficult to do an inventory with a kid and a dog around while the owners were moving out. Ridiculously unprofessional. The house was not cleaned. There were balls of dog hair everywhere and they charged us a cleaning fee.....

I would advise anyone to stay clear! Especially if you have young children. My daughter recently rented a house with dj Alexander and had nothing but problems from the day she moved into the tenancy. Ranging from plumbing issues, to severe mold putting herself and youngest in hospital on several occasions. The way the staff dealt with this was appalling. Staff were rude, cheeky. I am sorry that you were unable to see the properties that you had requested on your appointment, the difficulty we have is that the majority of our properties advertised are tenanted and we are reliant on the current tenants allowing access for the viewings, without their permission we cant legally go into the properties. This experience times 100% with my experience of DJ Alexander. The flat was filthy when we got it - grease and grim all over the flat. It took us months of cleaning to get the flat to a state where we were happy to live there. We were promised numerous times thing would be fixed which were never fixed during our two year tenancy. Staff were unhelpful and often rude.....
