RUDEST AND INCOMPETENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY EVER My Husband and I are tenants of a property which, since moving in in May 2019, we have had serious issues trying to get this management company to deal with our various significant problems. i.e. w.c.'s, heating, leaks etc. They were/are not trivial. We have had a leaking guttering right over the front door step which makes it slippery and I fell over on it, hurting myself. Plus the Conservatory roof is leaking. I have frail/disabled family members who it would cause terrible damage to if they were to fall over. I spoke to the management company and this is the third week that nothing has been done! Hence my call this morning. I have emailed, phoned and used their portal to report these issues. Nothing! To add insult to injury, their attitude seems to be that I am in the wrong chasing them. I have just come off the phone from someone who was downright rude. I have just finished a conversation with him saying why do you need to know what my position in the company is, it's not relevant as well as raising his voice. The reason I asked was because I wanted to know whether he was in a more senior position than the others in his office so that, perhaps, things would finally get done. I know that our Landlord has given them authority to attend to all of our issues as his friend gardens for us, so we get messages through to the Landlord through him. It is not the Landlord but the management company not doing what the Landlord is paying them to do. Which they are clearly NOT doing. I would never, ever recommend them. Several of the staff that I have spoken to are exactly the same. They are inept and, obviously, are understaffed without any clue as to how to deal with their Clients.

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could have accepted we had not received paperwork and dropped by the property or contacted us via our solicitors to request we called them to make payment before calling in lawyers.

Countrywide are nothing more than aggressive brutes! They didn't send service charge reminders to the property and when we didn't pay their charges, we would have done if asked, they got solicitors involved and added interest charges to our account. A simple 6 monthly service charge of £547, v expensive for what they do at the property was then hiked to include £645 for interest, disimbursements and legal charges. We have no choice but to use this company and reluctantly we paid so as to avoid court action. Countrywide is a huge PLC property services company providing everything from estate agency, property management, letting agency, surveying, conveyancing etc and I for one will refuse to ever use their services. In most instances they trade under a local brand name, so its worth checking locally to see what brand they operate under so as to avoid.
