Absolute joke of an agents, do not provide a service for the tenant at all. Inventory was that bad it listed the front door as white upvc door in good condition when it had a blue front door that was damaged, bowed and cracked and did not fit the frame, house was dirty still had sellotape on the window from evicting the previous tenants and electrical switches marked on the inventory as not visually safe. Letting through this Estate Agents (alongside Frank Innes) has been one of the most stressful times in my life. We had a renewal contract sent out at the beginning of December. In Sept 2012, I signed a contract with JDWoods Ltd as my full management letting agent., and everything was fine until end Oct 2013.. I'm not sure what the connection is between Frank Innes and Countrywide but between them they provide no service whatsover. Very quick to extract money from both me and the landlord - despite their promises they did not sort out utilities transfer or council tax so I did these myself. If I went to them with any query they just contacted the landlord (so what exactly what she paying for?) and in the end she and I just did everything between us. I have had countless problems with Countrywide. I am at my last ounce of patience now because I paid my rent 6 weeks ago for nearly £2000 and the landlord hasn\'t received a penny yet because Countrywide are incapable of sending me a tenancy agreement to sign. They have sent to me a copy with the wrong details on it and then they sent a copy with the correct details to the WRONG person! I rented this property from Frank Innes, but it is Countrywide who I deal with when things go wrong, and who I pay my rent to. When moving into the flat it was filthy; that is the only way I can describe it. Not only that, but the fridge didn\'t work, there was no cold water in the bathroom and there were no locks to several of the windows, which has left them permanently unlocked all year among other minor problems. Dealing with the problems in a timely manner without excuses., and in the rare instance when dealing with the problems, get someone qualified to do the work.

Firstly I would like to say that the local agents were very good. In truth until we got our renewal reminder I did not realise I was dealing with this bunch of thieves. The standardised contract originally printed in 2004 had their name on it but all the covering documents were from our local estate agent. I can second this review. I was charged an admin fee of almost ร‚ยฃ500 when I moved into my apartment six months ago and have just received a letter stating that if I wish to renew for another six months, this will cost me ร‚ยฃ125! I have rented a number of properties with different agents in the past and have never been charged to renew the contract. I tried to negotiate with them and explain that as a single, unemployed parent it would be extremely difficult for me to find this extra money....

hired Frank innes to mange the letting of our property and received the most awful service and had to inform them about the tenant\'s intention to move out, take a final inventry, give them the tenant\'s numbers and email id...in all most incompetent fleecers ยขรขโ€šยฌร‚ยข We were charged £90 inclusive VAT for a no objection certificate from our mortgage provider Halifax. Used the small private firm of Andrew Butler for many years. They managed a number of residential properties for me. All very satisfactory until sold to Countrywide. Service deteriorated, attempted to increase fees. Very slow at paying over rents. I sacked them and moved to another agent - still awaiting payment of final rents. May have to resort to County Court . There are many good firms around, Countrywide are one to avoid....
