First time we used this agent to find us tenants for a let only. One year later tenants want to go periodic for a few months only. Chase Evans insist they want their relet fee for doing nothing and not only that they want it 12 months up front. No doubt we would never see a refund of this. So unfortunately we decided we could not let the tenants stay....

I believe that this is standard practice for any agent. I had a let only service from another agent and had the same process (and had them take fees and refund them pro rata) Whilst I also thought they 'did nothing', they did, in fact, find the tenant and then serve them appropriate notice etc and once this was explained I had to concede they also had to earn money for their time. Avoid chase evans at all costs, the staff there are blood sucking cowboys who are just trying to extract as much money as possible very their tenants whilst providing as little assistance as possible. Chase Evans are utterly incompetent and dishonest -I would give 0 stars if I could. Initially helpful, as soon as I paid a reservation deposit the staff became unresponsive at best, and otherwise rude and disrespectful. Totally unethical and unprofessional. After only renting less than a month I was told the landlord wanted to sell. I had a constant stream of traffic for about 6 months afterwards and the landlord never did sell during my tenacy. Omg I am in exactly the situation - we were informed that the landlord wanted to sell and then 2 days later they took new tenant to view our flat to rent. Anneka was our property manager as well! Unprofessional. Continuous change of personnel. Repeated overcharging of repairs. Over promise under deliver. We let Chase Evans manage our flat. They promised me GBP330 per week if we switch to them. At the end we got GBP300. The tenants they found tend to vacate fairly quickly even though the location is very near Canary Wharf. Also, they kept making expensive repairs without giving me several competitive quotes and expect me to pay. Tenant has also complained about Chase Evans' service....

I rented a flat through Chase Evans Docklands office. The overall impression was very good, it was my first contact to a letting agent in the UK as I have been recently moved over. We should have noticed that when they let us waiting for 1 hour the first day, did not turn up when we first went to the agency to speak with the manager. Just don't lie to people. Do a proper customer service. Don't "*" people's money. People talk, it can't continue forever. Signals like tenants turnover should highlight that the service is very poor. Customers feel they got a scam.

Phone jack does not work, but I was told that this was a BT problem. Storage room and bathroom furniture contain debris and left-behind items which prevent full use of the facilities. Security answer phone does not work. Washing machine contains rust and discoloured my clothing. Problems with window fittings, not bolted properly.
