My experience in the property was great. But Chancellors were slow to reply to any emails we sent in the build up to renting the property, never able to take calls and generally quick to avoid doing any work. We asked for specific terms to be added to our contract, which they said was fine and approved. When it came to discussing this with the landlord, they'd had no communication about this and were very surprised. Fortunately the landlords honoured it, but it could have been very difficult fo...

Chancellors East are the most dishonest, incompetent, morally bankrupt estate agents I ever had the misfortune to meet. They will charge you at every stage of the way. It does not matter if it is their mistakes, or yours, they will find a way to squeeze money out of you. While they are all sweet talk and honey before the contract is signed, they actually do not care about their tenants in the slightest. They only care about money - and tenants trying to make a home in a property managed by Chanc...

What agent could do to change your mind?
This Agent's Fees are ridiculous. They claim they can justify every single on them, which I am sure they can. But I could come up with fees and justify them too. What about ‚£25 for the hassle of setting up a direct debit? Or how about ‚£15 for every time we had to waste our time with them on the phone or in person?

Renting from Chancellors East Oxford was one of the worst experiences I've had with a company. Having signed a short let Chancellors gave us a single month's notice after one month's rental, citing the landlord's desire to have us vacate. When we queried this, as it's in contravention of the 2 month period given to Assured Shorthold Tenancies, we were told that our contract was not in this category. Chancellors had just made up a random housing contract that aimed to deprive tenants of the prote...

We are sorry to learn you feel unhappy with elements of the service you have received from our East Oxford office. Our landlord clients will inform us when they wish to serve notice on tenants; we marketed the property as a short-term let, and, as such, the landlord may require the property back at short notice. Owing to the length of the tenancy it was not classed as an assured shorthold tenancy and the deposit would not have had to have been protected, and the contract you signed confirms i....

Chancellor's handles the difficult position of having both a landlord and a tenant as their client by assuming the tenants are idiots and wrong, and covering for the landlord. St the start of the lease the slick salesman are all friendly and supportive until you put a signature on a piece of paper; they have made their score and are moving on. They do not answer the phone anymore. We had to wait 5 days for the landlord to sign the contract making all kinds of additional costs for not being abl...

I cannot put into words how much I would discourage you from using this awful estate agents. They are the rudest, most unorganised, dishonest, unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. We started renting with them in November last year, it is now May and our pre-tenancy work is still outstanding. There was a lot of work that needed to be done on the house, it was in a dangerous condition, yet they don't see exposed wires, rising damp, mould, and pest infestations as priorities. ...

As soon as he got his commission we never heard from him again. There was so much work that needed to be done and he assured us that he would help to push this forward. We haven't heard from him since getting the keys. Absolutely useless.
Comment on agent fees
The admin fees are ‚£170 per person in a shared house, ‚£30 each for a check in and then another ‚£30 for check out, ‚£750 deposit each in a 5 bed house. They will try and rinse you.

My experience with Chancellors Oxford branch was excellent, the positive attitudes of the staff was very impressive in particular Oliver who was the sales adviser that sold my property, I would recommend this company to friends and family without any hesitation. In the past i have dealt with other local estate agents and had quite bad experiencies but the team in Cowley were brilliant....

I have always found everyone at Chancellors very polite and helpful, always ready to give help and advice when needed! I would also like to nominate Owen Robinson as an exceptional member of the team, nothing was too much trouble and he was first class in every aspect of the move. My calls to the office were always dealt with promptly and efficiently and whenever there was a need for someone to call back this was done without delay. On conclusion of the sale Owen contacted me and made sure that...

We were dealing with Owen who introduced us to the place, we really liked it and put in an offer! It took us quite a while but during that time, Owen has always been a great help and very efficient. He was always able to sort things out for us quickly and always very pleasant whenever we talked. I know I can count on him if in the future we need to move or get other investment properties. Thanks again, Owen!...

I have just exchanged contracts on a buy-to-let property through Chancellors in East Oxford. Owen was great. Always cheerful and willing to help; he understood the steps we had to go through to secure an HMO mortgage and was very patient with us (and the Ox CC). I will have no hesitation in using Chancellors again....

I went to the agency 2 weeks ago to find a property to rent, everything seemed good and they showed me a properly for which they quoted the wrong rent just ti get me to sign a contract. Later on once i came to know about the real rent. I decided to go with the rival agency who happened to be handling the same property. I finalised everything and then Chancellors threatened me and the landlord both and made him say no to rent the flat after I had given my current landlord a notice. So practically...

Treat other people fairly because they can not do anything for me anymore. Would never deal with them even if I get a house for free.

We are sorry to read you feel dissatisfied with elements of the service you have received from our East Oxford office. We understand that you were unsure whether or not the monthly rental figure quoted on our marketing material included council tax, and you raised this matter with the office who showed you the council tax band of the property on the advertisement and confirmed that the rent did not include this amount. You then chose to attempt to obtain a tenancy on the property through the oth....

We are a company who have taken on 5 properties through Chancellors in East Oxford as a company let. We have always dealt with Julian Dando at Chancellors who has provided excellent customer service. I was always contacted with potential properties that may be suitable for us, and found his approach flexible and courteous, been able to view the properties quickly and kept up to date with when the tenancy start date has been agreed. I found the paperwork side of taking on a new property straightf...

Seriously, it would be harder to find a worse estate agents. You can rent with them for years and they treat you more like scum than a paying tenant. Very money hungry and disorganised. Any conversation you have must be repated atleast on 3 occasions to get anywhere and they are extremly rude. I would avoid....
